..., then you'll definitely like Nightmares on Wax. Sara Winton's vocals may not be as to the fore as Skye Edwards, but they are still beguiling and with beats to back up the voice, the package as a whole is great.
Capumcap, the final track, is a suitably upbeat finale, combining the best of what has come before - Winton's voice, Robin Taylor-Firth's keyboards and the bass and guitar of Hamlet Luton and Chris Dankins respectively.
Nightmares on Wax may not be as well known as the chart-friendly likes of Morcheeba, but they are no less essential for chill out fans.
Take my advice, add a little Car Boot Soul to your life....

Advantages: A Classic Country Album Disadvantages: You really need a sense of humor to appreciate the joke
...the pain that is being "legendary and Broke" and how being an old underground die hard doesn't pay the kids dental bills. During which he has a go at Henry Rollins, Courtney Love, Don Henley, the Grunge Scene and manages to prophesize the reformation of his old band Dead Kennedys. Similar lyrical themes are explored in the ballad "Nostalgia For an Age That Never Existed".
Mojo's songs on the album include the Cajun influenced "Hamlet Chicken Plant Disaster", which is a tale of exploding chicken plants and union suppression in the US of A. "Lets Go Burn Olde Nashville Down" is a bluegrass rant about the desperate situation country music was in and is still in to a lesser degree the from the opening lines "Country Music Is Killing Itself, trying To be What It AinT" to the closing lines of "Country Music Don't Need Flutes or samplers neither...

Top big band tunes Review ofSuch Sweet Thunder - Duke Ellington & His Orchestraby
JaySee
Advantages: Superb playing and well-written music, cliche free Disadvantages: Nothing
.... Excellent stuff.
- Clark Terry plays a neat solo on tumpet on 'Up And Down', which is a fun tribute to Puck from A Midsummer Night's Dream.
- 'Sonnet For Sister Kate' has a delicious trombone wah-wah mute solo, which is a joy to hear. Slow, ballad tempo, but full of interest.
- 'Madness in Great Ones' is a wild tribute to Hamlet. The star is Cat Anderson, who plays a ridiculously high tumpet solo which is hilarious and awesome.
- 'Half The Fun' is an exotic-sounding slow track which still has the raunchy bite of the fast tunes.
In general, this is vintage big band music, but not in the traditional sense. There are no cliches here - and that's what makes things so interesting. The short tracks are all bursting with interest, and there are many places where I feel like laughing out loud. The playing is amazing, really doing justice to the music...
