I can't believe no one has written a review for this yet! Where to start? Well, Bruce has continued on from The Rising with another stonking album with the EStreetBand. The album opener, Radio Nowhere is destined to become a Bruce anthem up there alongside Born To Run, Badlands and Tenth Ave Freeze Out. Moving on from this we get You'll Be Coming Down, a good solid track & Living In the Future, a politically inspired track but very good listening. Slows down again for Your Own Worst Enemy before the haunting harmonica of Gypsy Biker. Girls in Their Summer Clothes, a good fun tune. I'll work for your love is then followed by the title track Magic. Good track but not in my opinion the best on the album. The last four tracks Last to Die, Long Walk Home, Devil's Arcade & Terry's song can never go down in my book as classics, but all stand ...

Springsteen and the EStreetBand: "HammersmithOdeon, London '75" Track Listing
1. Thunder Road - Typical Bruce, on the album 'Born to Run' this track is upbeat and electric, here he sings it slower accompanied only by the 'professor' Roy Bittan on piano - you could hear a pin drop!
2. Tenth Avenue Freeze Out - Again from 'Born?' this could be a song about how Clarence joined the band - that's the story I've heard, whatever the history, the track just rocks along with great saxaphone!
3. Spirit In The Night - From 'Greetings' this up tempo joyous song about friends in Jersey ripping up the town is just brilliant.
4. Lost In The Flood - Again from 'Greetings' this is packed to the rafters with Jersey characters, gang fights, bleeding bodies and local street racers, all mixed up in great music.
5. She's The One - From 'Born?' this is ...
Shall we say something of a different review from me this time round. Modern rock aside, grunge gods given a break and onto one of the most respected musicians of my era. Bruce ?The Boss? Springsteen is a man that has always known how to connect with his audience, whether it be through a 10 million selling album, a appearance on any one of the numerous American late night talk shows or even a John Kerry political rally, he?s a man with a great influence on the public. The music he makes gets to the point and is direct, generally incorporating beautiful harmonies as heard on ?Born In The USA? and ?Streets Of Philadelphia?. Despite not being what you would consider a fan, I find it very easy to sit back and listen to his music and feel genuinely emotive. He?s a man that, if you don?t respect as a person, then should definitely respect as ...

Album Notes
This excellent two-disc concert set captures Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band performing in London for the first time in 1975. Recorded just after the release of BORN TO RUN--which would ensure the Boss's place on the rock-&-roll map for all eternity--the HAMMERSMITH ODEON concert represents a young band bursting with ambition, attitude, and energy, and ripping through a set with the hunger that has rightfully conferred legendary status upon Springsteen concerts. From the spare opening version of "Thunder Road" to the rollicking "Rosalita (Come Out Tonight)," Bruce is in fine form here, and his band--shifting between soulful R&B, jazzy explorations, and spit-fire rock--plays like a monster. In fact, there is a ragged leanness to the band's style that would begin to ebb some years later, and while Springsteen's backing ensembles have remained powerful and ferocious up into the 2000s, there is something pure and beautiful about this particular group. As such, it is a genuine must-have for any rock-&-roll fan.
