hybrid theory
Review of Hybrid Theory - Linkin Park by c_i_a_o

Advantages: good album
Disadvantages: none really

When an albums first track is as good as "Papercut" then you know that you are in for a treat, and that is exactly what you get with this the first album of rap-core band Linkin Park. In danger of being pigeonholed as just another Limp Bizkit/Papa Roach cloan, Linkin Park deserve more praise than that. Tracks such as "Runaway" and "Crawling" display the genius of this album, a rap-core album that manages to get very good singing into the mix!!!! ...

Go On And Save Yourself, And Take It Out On Me
Review of Audioslave - Audioslave by Andy.mack

Advantages: A decent alternative to the now demised Soundgarden and Rage Against The Machine. Cornell's vocals
Disadvantages: If your looking for a direct replacement for RATM or Soundgarden this isn't it

...rise from the ashes. With Audioslave though it took the demise of two great bands, Soundgarden and Rage Against The Machine, for the band to be created. When Zack De La Rocha left Rage Against the Machine due to creative differences it left the rest of the band without a lead singer. Over the few months after Zack's departure the band worked with a few different lead singers before a producer suggested they try Chris Cornell. Now a solo artist having ...
...The Machine had gone that Audioslave really burst onto the music scene with some pretty heavy rock tracks. The political agenda of Rage Against The Machine had seemingly gone and in its place a slightly more placid album lyrically. It almost seemed suiting though that Audioslave filled the voids left by the demise of Soundgarden and RATM. They took their place alongside the likes of System Of A Down and Queens Of The Stone Age to become one of the ... Read review

Headbangers Unite!
Review of Ride The Lightning - Metallica by 4ku-Papa

Advantages: Some say their finest hour
Disadvantages: There's only 8 tracks

Ride the Lightning is Metallica's follow-up to their debut album, 'Kill 'Em All' and while not as raw as the first, this is hardcore, head-banging, thrash-metal at its best. The band would go onto refine their sound in later albums, some would say water-down, but this early showing is full of in-your-face energy, grit and perhaps surprising to some, sheer musical brilliance. In this reviewers opinion, it's also among their best work. The Metallica ...
...and rhythm guitar, Lars Ulrich on drums, Kirk Hammett on lead guitar and the late, great Cliff Burton on bass. Hetfield here is starting to show promise on vocals. He's never had the greatest voice, he never will either, but it fits in with the style of music. Certainly on the their first few albums, the vocals play a definite second-fiddle to the music. Famously, Hetfield and to a slightly lesser degree Lars, are the main protagonists when it comes ... Read review

Metallica - And Justice For All
Review of And Justice For All - Metallica by GerlofL

Advantages: This album rocks, the artwork rocks and the long tracks rock. Awesome
Disadvantages: To Live is to Die only lasts 9.49, They hardly play any of this live.

...6:41. Very very amazing track, and It immediatly gives me the the feeling 'Yay, I bought A Metallica Album'. 2. "...And Justice for All" - 9:47 In my eyes the best track of the CD, and it deserves to be the albumtitle holder 3. "Eye of the Beholder" - 6:30 I love the drums in this track. 4. "One" - 7:26 He deserves a medal for the guitar. 5. "The Shortest Straw" - 6:36 A 'regular' awesome song 6. "Harvester of Sorrow" - 5:46 Rocks my boat, and ...
...every second of this track. 9. "Dyers Eve" - 5:13 LOVE the solo. The only downside is that it is to difficult for them to play this album live, so you know how awesome they can be, and live they won't play this, makes me sad. ... Read review

Whitesnake release brilliant new album shock!
Review of Good To Be Bad - Whitesnake by BigCS

Advantages: It's the best Whitesnake album in 20 years!
Disadvantages: It might be their last!

...was still a very very good album, but sadly nothing since has been worthy of the Whitesnake name. Until now that is.... This album straddles the old and the new(er) versions of the band and picks from the best of both worlds. The current band has something that was missing from the late 80's and 90's band line-ups - and that something is 'soul'. This band has a feel for the blues that previous guitarists including the widdly widdly king Steve Vai, ...
...a couple of very good ballads, in the style that only David Coverdale can do.... and that voice... oh yeah, he may be well in his mid 50's but that voice is still in very fine fettle indeed. Sounding more mature, as it should do, perhaps a wee bit deeper and more resonant than the early years, there must be a good few years left in this beast yet! All I can say is, if you're at all a fan - buy it, you won't be disappointed! The tracks - 1. Best ... Read review
