Advantages: Interesting blend of catchiness and technical prog metal Disadvantages: Vocals a racket
Energetic Dissasembly was an album by the Texan progressive metal band Watchtower released in 1985 on Monster Records. The band are excellen musicians and really quite technical but they also manage to blend in a lot of catchiness to produce a heavy metal sound vocally while the music itself focuses on various kinds of styles but mostly progressive metal.
Lyrically the songs tend to be written in a chop, chop, chop style - that is short blasts like ... ...screaming going on - in fact it's my personal opinion that Jason McMaster's vocals are a bit of a row.
This album remains a popular choice with metalheads worldwide today and is a bit of a cult classic, whilst it is almost unique in the way that it blends technicality and catchiness - the wailing is just too much for me. Not only that but this album has certainly aged and sounds a bit slow now.

Advantages: Hard, unconventional rock Disadvantages: An acquired taste
Rap-Metal group Rage Against the Machine released their self-titled debut album in 1992, but the music is just as relevant today as it was back then. Songs like 'Take the Power Back' and 'Freedom' are about individual exploitation by the cultural, social, and political systems in society, and how the people must be willing to rise up and overcome such oppression. You may have also recently heard about the small matter of 'Killing in the Name' beating ... ...when you first listen to Rage is that they mean business. The whole album is intended to provide voice to the silent minority: Those individuals that feel neglected and abused are given hope through the band's resonant, unashamed, confrontational expression. Guitarist Tom Morello's anomalous riffs, rhythmic special effects and extended tapping techniques were some of the most powerful sounds to come from a guitar in that era, and remain unchallenged ...
Advantages: Pirate metal just rules Disadvantages: one iffy song

Advantages: Unique and Brilliant consistancey of good tracks Disadvantages: Old fashion looking album design
Normally im into Children of Bodom, Slipknot, BFMV and alot more of the screamo bands. But the Avenged Sevefold have a truly unique style, the vocalist is amazing. I bought this album, and loved it. I think the best on the album is The beast and the harlot. I truly love this band and cannot wait until their next tour. The consistancy of the tracks is also very good with tracks like afterlife, bat country, Blinded in chains, MIA and gunslinger deserving ...
Advantages: Original, Interesting Disadvantages: Some song can seem a little similar
This was back before the lead singer Dave Williams died, and they have gone downhill since. This album is very raw and heavy, but was unlike other bands at the same time. The biggest hit from this album was track 2 'Bodies'. This song is very aggressive but also catchy and original. This album doesn't have a single song that i dislike, this may be due to the fact that there is a strong element that is consistent between such as the guitar sounds. ...
