Rob's Gone
Advantages: Priest survive without the main man Disadvantages: Not as good without him
In contrast to Saxon of course, Priest have parted company with their long-time vocalist Rob Halford. (Incidentally, was everyone else as underwhelmed as I was by the recent revelations that Rob is gay? It wasn't really a surprise, and it doesn't really matter. Still, it was well-timed publicity for his new venture). New man "Ripper" Owens high-pitched screaming actually sounds very similar, which is not surprising as he used to be in a Priest covers ... ...of clanking before it really gets going. "Blood Stained" has a go at – wait for it, wait for it – war AND politicians. The Priest do not mess about do they? "Dead Meat", "Death Row" and "Decapitate" all hover around the subjects of crime and punishment. A lot of the tracks here are just a little too similar: "Burn In Hell", "Brain Dead", "Abductors" and "Bullet Train" are all instantly recognisable as Judas Priest numbers, without rising above the ...

Painkiller - What A Masterpeice!
Advantages: Brilliant, Catchy Tracks with Remarkable artwork Disadvantages: Some tracks sound slightly like other Priest tracks
Painkiller by Judas Priest is surely one of the top metal albums ever released. As soon as the drums begin you can tell the sheer power of the opening track and WOW! when the guitars kick in it really blows you off your feet. And of course, no one can beat Rob Halford’s unmistakable screaming voice. This album it truly a sensation to the ears. The more you listen to it the better it sounds and the more addicted you get to it. Some of the best tracks ... ...and ‘All Guns Blazing’. Apart for the music the cover and the cd design like most Priest albums is sensational. Also inside the booklet it has the LYRICS! Most of the people I know, including me, hate it when there are no lyrics in the booklet so you have to spend time searching for them on the internet before you can sing along with your favourite songs. Overall it is an excellent buy and it has given me many hours of pleasure. ...

Rage Against The Machine Album Review
Advantages: Hard, unconventional rock Disadvantages: An acquired taste
Rap-Metal group Rage Against the Machine released their self-titled debut album in 1992, but the music is just as relevant today as it was back then. Songs like 'Take the Power Back' and 'Freedom' are about individual exploitation by the cultural, social, and political systems in society, and how the people must be willing to rise up and overcome such oppression. You may have also recently heard about the small matter of 'Killing in the Name' beating ... ...when you first listen to Rage is that they mean business. The whole album is intended to provide voice to the silent minority: Those individuals that feel neglected and abused are given hope through the band's resonant, unashamed, confrontational expression. Guitarist Tom Morello's anomalous riffs, rhythmic special effects and extended tapping techniques were some of the most powerful sounds to come from a guitar in that era, and remain unchallenged ...

My favourite album
Advantages: Unique and Brilliant consistancey of good tracks Disadvantages: Old fashion looking album design
Normally im into Children of Bodom, Slipknot, BFMV and alot more of the screamo bands. But the Avenged Sevefold have a truly unique style, the vocalist is amazing. I bought this album, and loved it. I think the best on the album is The beast and the harlot. I truly love this band and cannot wait until their next tour. The consistancy of the tracks is also very good with tracks like afterlife, bat country, Blinded in chains, MIA and gunslinger deserving ...
