Secrets Of The Moon - Generic Trash Advantages: Can be picked up cheap Disadvantages: Completly generic and boring Sometime last year I went to see this band live in my local bar, and to thier credit, they put on a killer live show, it is unfortunate for them however, that I am not reviewing thier live show. I am reviewing this rather lame and generic offering in what is becoming an increasingly crowed Black Metal market. These days in metal, too many bands are coming out that are just clones of some bigger band, completley generic and no real talent or drive, ... ...but thier album was a let down from start to finish. Badly produced songs (Yeah Black Metal is MEANT to be rought and raw, but there is a fine line) over terrible rasping lyrics that cover topics that every other band has already made several albums about and that most self-respecting BM bands don't even touch. Captin Morgans Revenge was released last year (2008) with Napalm records. The Band Christopher Bowes - Lead/Backing Vocals, Keyboards, Tin Whistle Gavin Harper - Lead/Rhythm/Acoustic Guitars, Jew's Harp, Additional Drums, Tambourine; Backing Vocals Dani Evans - Bass Guitars Migo Wagner - Session Drums; Backing Vocals The band are awesome pirate metal is one great ... ...Track Two Captain Morgans Revenge 5/5 This is a brilliant track, infact it is better than brilliant! I love the guitarring its really catching and the drums are excellent. Lyrics are immense and stick in your head 'So have no fear and dont look back the afterlife awaits' I love that line espesially I dont know why. The track in itself is just indescribable to be honest, its probably one of the best songs I have heard from this band. My favourite album Advantages: Unique and Brilliant consistancey of good tracks Disadvantages: Old fashion looking album design Normally im into Children of Bodom, Slipknot, BFMV and alot more of the screamo bands. But the Avenged Sevefold have a truly unique style, the vocalist is amazing. I bought this album, and loved it. I think the best on the album is The beast and the harlot. I truly love this band and cannot wait until their next tour. First and best Advantages: Original, Interesting Disadvantages: Some song can seem a little similar This was back before the lead singer Dave Williams died, and they have gone downhill since. This album is very raw and heavy, but was unlike other bands at the same time. The biggest hit from this album was track 2 'Bodies'. This song is very aggressive but also catchy and original.
