It's Judas Priest with a twist

Advantages: It's different to anything else released by the band, therefore deserves a listen
Disadvantages: maybe alienate a few fans

This is a very difficult album to review for me... the Priest were one of the first metal bands I became a fan of back in my teen days in 1978, so I've been with them every step of the way for the last 30 years now. Over that time they've released several classic albums... Stained Class, Killing Machine, British Steel, Screaming For Vengeance, Painkiller, and even the last album 'Angel Of Retribution'. They've also stuck out a couple of average albums... ...
...new one... heck, this one had me stumped from the day they announced the concept (what were they thinking of?), until I actually bought it and gave it a few listens. Based loosely on the life and prophecies of Nostradamus, it's a double CD. A lot of it sounds like your typical Judas Priest material, but a lot of it is far from it. Normally im into Children of Bodom, Slipknot, BFMV and alot more of the screamo bands. But the Avenged Sevefold have a truly unique style, the vocalist is amazing. I bought this album, and loved it. I think the best on the album is The beast and the harlot. I truly love this band and cannot wait until their next tour. First and best

Advantages: Original, Interesting
Disadvantages: Some song can seem a little similar

This was back before the lead singer Dave Williams died, and they have gone downhill since. This album is very raw and heavy, but was unlike other bands at the same time. The biggest hit from this album was track 2 'Bodies'. This song is very aggressive but also catchy and original. The turning point

Advantages: Original, Quality recording, Amazing Lyrics
Disadvantages: None

For me this is the point at which megadeth turned from good to amazing. There is not a song on this album that i dislike, but for me the best tracks are 'Skin O' My Teeth', 'Symphony Of Destruction' and 'High Speed Dirt'.
