Advantages: One of the best albums of it's era. Disadvantages: Long complexed songs put some people off and the production is not amazing.

This is one for eshablished Metallica fans only I'd say. If you haven't listened to much Metallica this is probably not a good place to start; however if you like Metallica's earlier album such as 'Kill 'em All' and 'Master Of Puppets' you will more than likely enjoy this.
The tracks that really stand out to me are 'Blackened', '...And Justice For All' and 'One'. 'One' is the most famous ... ...his senses during a war and now is trapped unable to communicate with the world. Saying that's the most popular track should give you an idea of what this album is like!
Many people have said that the guitars and too buzzy and thin on this album and the drums are too hollow and clicky. Although this is true at times you have to remember the era this album was made in. A time when most metal bands were producing buzzy guitars and clicky drums. This ...
Advantages: This album offers something to everyone, with great musical talent and support from the orchestra. Disadvantages: I can not think of anything negative about this
In my opinion this is the best that i have EVER listened to. I personally am not really a huge fan of the 'metal' genre of music but i think that this album is just outstanding. Deciding to combine their raw and meaty guitar riffs and drums with the stunning vocals with an orchestra was a fantastic move. This album, in my opinion, is a must for the hardened Metallica and Metal fan but also for those who appreciate good music, something you can rock ... ...the background. I have found the beauty of this album, i can listen to it full blast with headphones on, or have it playing quietly in the background and it suits all moods and situations. The selection of songs on this album also caters for everyone, giving you some more chilled out relaxing songs, and some of their more hardcore songs.The orchestra brings so much to the songs, so even offers you something if you already own all the other Metallica ...

Ride the Lightning is the second studio album released my heavy metal/ thrash giants Metallica. Released July 27th 1984 and has since sold over 5 million copies in the USA alone. The album was released a year after Kill ‘em all (Metallica’s debut album) and in such a short time you can really tell how much the band has matured from ruthless teenagers to more deep musicians. The album deals with what some people would call stereotypical metal themes ... ...little bit more strong. Ride the Lightning- 6:38 A personal favourite of mine with probably one of the most addictive tunes you’ll ever hear. Ride the lightning brings us a story about capital punishment and the thoughts that go through some one’s head as they are awaiting their fate, really deep stuff. Again the lyrics here coupled with the riff make this song incredibly immense. If there is a song on this album that you’re going to listen to it ...

James's heavy and hard guitar playing, Lars's fast and frantic druming combined with Jason's and Hamett's melodic bass and melody combination, are blending well with Metallica's arrangement on this particular album. James's heavy voice and screaming on Enter Sandman, the opening song, set a high ground for the flow to go to Sad But True. The high flow of the first 3 songs suddenly went down to melodic ... ...You will experience the fall of a roller coaster as rapid melody of Through The Never suddenly turned to Nothing Else Matters, one of the best songs of this album. This particular album is the best Metallica has ever made, where rapid enveloped melody combined with harmonic flow. ...
