Advantages: Good all round selection for people new to the band Disadvantages: Nothing new for fans of the band
Choice Cuts is a best of album, taking songs from a wide selection of the bands history. You will find some of the early Grind stuff but it mainly consists of the newer more melodic output. Being a Carcass fan I have most of the Album based tracks already, and none of these are actually re-recorded or re-mastered. The Peel Sessions are of a very raw sound quality, and may not be for everyone. The amount of rarities that are out there for this band ... ...this compilation, rather than the few pickings here. This would be a good CD for people new to Carcass and are looking for a nice sample from various parts of there history, as for long time fans, you can skip this as it contains very little you don't already have bar a few interviews and some other hard to find bits and bobs, most of which could be found on video site like youtube or something. ...

There is nothing wrong with the production on 'Supercharger', the album from a sound perspective is perfect. It's just the bad directions some of the music takes, and some of the smaller things in some of the tracks that sadly ruins what could have been, and promised to be a great Machine Head album. ...
Advantages: Consistant greatness Disadvantages: If you don't like metal, don't buy this
Brazilian band Sepultura have brought us this great album. 'Roots' All the tracks are very heavy. (great stuff) This album is what introduced me to Sepultura and I love every bit of it. Each song gives out an incredible energy. Sepultura are obviously very talented. Just listen to this to find that one out for yourself. The Lyrics are very strong and persistant. This adds to it's greatness. I love the songs 'Cut-Throat' and 'Roots Bloody Roots'. ...

Advantages: Hard, unconventional rock Disadvantages: An acquired taste
Rap-Metal group Rage Against the Machine released their self-titled debut album in 1992, but the music is just as relevant today as it was back then. Songs like 'Take the Power Back' and 'Freedom' are about individual exploitation by the cultural, social, and political systems in society, and how the people must be willing to rise up and overcome such oppression. You may have also recently heard about the small matter of 'Killing in the Name' beating ... ...when you first listen to Rage is that they mean business. The whole album is intended to provide voice to the silent minority: Those individuals that feel neglected and abused are given hope through the band's resonant, unashamed, confrontational expression. Guitarist Tom Morello's anomalous riffs, rhythmic special effects and extended tapping techniques were some of the most powerful sounds to come from a guitar in that era, and remain unchallenged ...
