Opeth - Ghost Reveries
Advantages: amazing musicianship, beautiful songs/vocals Disadvantages: sucks to be you if you don't have this CD already!
...album they put out. Ghost Reveries is excellent from the minute it starts all the way until the end. Anyone familiar with Opeth's unique approach to songwriting and musicianship will not be let down with this album. It is intensely heavy and dark throughout and also is soft and melodic when it needs to be. The production quality is top notch on this record and the overall tone is subperb. The album kicks off with the classic Opeth death metal style ... ...groovy progressive song with great breakdowns and acoustic parts. The album continues on with a couple of great heavy/progressive songs. Hours of Wealth is one of the most beautiful pieces Opeth has ever done and will bring a tear to your eye. I would recommend this album to everyone who loves Opeth (if you do you probably already have this album!) and to anyone who is just a music lover in general. I would have to say this was the best metal album ...

Face of Perfection...Opeth's best album?
Advantages: Expansive, beautifully crafted, musically moving Disadvantages: Once hooked, it's difficult to give Opeth up...
Brutal and agressive, with beautiful melody and atmosphere. Indescribable except as an exceptional metal album, spanning genres from black metal to classical and folk. The Progressive elements which have since become more prevelent in Opeth's albums really came to the fore in this release from 1999. There also feature nuances of a far "jazzier" Opeth than seen previously (or subsequently, though I await my first listening of "Watershed" the album ... ...with other albums by the band "StillLife" has a concept, one I won't spoil for new listeners by revealing, other than to say it has a tragic overtone, told with Shakespearean stylings. "Serenity Painted Death", coming towards the albums climax, is pivotal in the tale, and is also, in my opinion, the best track on the album, and I'd go so far as to say Opeth's best track (and criminally underrated as such).
Featuring more twists and turns in a single ...

Deliverance to be Delivered
Advantages: Extremely Progressive, Purely Original, Well Synchronized Disadvantages: Softies might not be able to handle it
"Deliverance", one of Opeth's finest Masterpieces, came after the Album "Blackwater Park", which was not that highly appreciated, Well I'd say that every one has their one perception regarding an album or a single. Anyways, similar to the ideology of presentation that Opeth puts forth, this album contains six different tracks, All somewhat related in a way. In other words, If you take all the good parts from "Blackwater Park" & "My Arms, Your Hearse", ... ...the song synchronization seems to be in order & the production inflicts the essence of being Flawless. The Album "Deliverance" was the 1st part of Opeth's plan, as they wanted to throw in both sides of the coin, & they released two Albums in which one related to Depression & Death which was "Deliverance", and the other one related to Relationships & Nature which was "Damnation", the other half. According to the Band, they felt like switching the ...
