Psychobilly nutters give it their all
Advantages: It's fun, frenetic and takes you back to brighter days Disadvantages: If you weren't around then, maybe you won't understand
These were the days...psychobilly gigs were sell outs everywhere and possibly the finest purveyors were King Kurt. With their now infamous drinking competitions starting the shows it was purely about entertainment and having a good time.
Okay so maybe the live action feel can never truly be encapsulated on record (and now CD) but there has to be some way of listening to such fantastic, fun and frenetic music at home, in the car or, even better, ... ...too seriously there are some serious party belters here.
Okay so maybe this doesn't include early classics such as Destination Zululand or Zulu Beat but try keeping your feet still to Alcoholic Rat, Road to Rack and Ruin and Billy.
It's just not possible!
King Kurt played Rock City the other week. I'm not sure how many of the original members feature but if they pop round my way again, I'll be there!
It's made me wish I had enough hair to form ...

...Artillery
AUS: #3 (Platinum)
2006: State of Emergency
AUS: #1 (2x Platinum)
2008: White Noise
AUS: #2 (Platinum)
The track that had first got me into the band was from "Modern Artillery" and had a high paced punk sound to it, but was incredibly tight musically and lyrically. Somewhat similar to what a truely talented Greenday would sound like. Which is quite ironic as it was the sending of a demo to Billie Joe Armstrong that helped lead to ... ...I knew it was a possibilty that this album would sound relatively terrible and that "The End Of The World" was a one off...but still I'm listening to it now.
The album was recorded in Byron Bay in the New South Wales area of Australia and with the albums artwork was completed in 2005 for releases in Q1 of 2006 with releases in February in Australia and New Zealand and May in Japan. The USA got it in summer of 2006 and yet I cant find the details ...

Rage Against The Machine Album Review
Advantages: Hard, unconventional rock Disadvantages: An acquired taste
Rap-Metal group Rage Against the Machine released their self-titled debut album in 1992, but the music is just as relevant today as it was back then. Songs like 'Take the Power Back' and 'Freedom' are about individual exploitation by the cultural, social, and political systems in society, and how the people must be willing to rise up and overcome such oppression. You may have also recently heard about the small matter of 'Killing in the Name' beating ... ...when you first listen to Rage is that they mean business. The whole album is intended to provide voice to the silent minority: Those individuals that feel neglected and abused are given hope through the band's resonant, unashamed, confrontational expression. Guitarist Tom Morello's anomalous riffs, rhythmic special effects and extended tapping techniques were some of the most powerful sounds to come from a guitar in that era, and remain unchallenged ...

My favourite album
Advantages: Unique and Brilliant consistancey of good tracks Disadvantages: Old fashion looking album design
Normally im into Children of Bodom, Slipknot, BFMV and alot more of the screamo bands. But the Avenged Sevefold have a truly unique style, the vocalist is amazing. I bought this album, and loved it. I think the best on the album is The beast and the harlot. I truly love this band and cannot wait until their next tour. The consistancy of the tracks is also very good with tracks like afterlife, bat country, Blinded in chains, MIA and gunslinger deserving ...
