Rock that Air Guitar!
Review of Greatest Hits - Whitesnake by nursey311

Advantages: Amazing vocals, lyrics and guitar work.
Disadvantages: not that I have found!

...Slide it in. The Greatest Hits album takes tracks from 3 previous albums the afore mentioned Slide it In, 1987, and Slip of the Tongue, as well as remakes from the very early albums such as Saints and Sinners and Lovehunter. You have a mixture of soul shaking power ballads like Is This Love, Cryin' in the Rain and Now you're Gone which gives you the feeling that Coverdale has never been lucky in love! But then tracks like Slide it In, Slow an' Easy, ...
...he was in love, music wasn't the only thing that rocked! When you hear the music and listen to the lyrics, you'll know what I mean! Unlike some of the "metal" bands around now, Whitesnake represent the core of Rock like Led Zeppelin, Rainbow, through to the like of Bon Jovi and Aerosmith, and each song tells a story. This man can do things with his voice that Christina Aguilera, Brtiany Spears and Justin Timberlake could only dream of. Buy it, ... Read review

Mean mutherz in errrr L.A.
Review of Headless Children, The - WASP by Snakeman45

Advantages: Really worth a listen is this one
Disadvantages: None

...this really kick!! Being the Headless Chrildren, and Thunderhead making the hairs stand up on your neck. Mean man is a track about guitarist Chris Holmes and his 'antics' on the docufilm ' The Rock Years'. The second half of the album goes into 'Chillin' mode with 'Forever Free' before getting back on form with the track ' Rebel in the F.D.G. ' to close. If you are into your rock hard and heavy you will love this album. It is not for the faint of ...
...lack the musical and vocal capabililty of bands like W.A.S.P. Definately one for the old school rocker!! This was Blackie's first attempt at a concept album and this one delivers. His later projects 'The Crimson Idol' and last years 'The Neon God' were even more mature and complete and showed just how far his song writing had come on since the 'Headless Children'. ... The Crimson Idol- WASP
Review of Crimson Idol - WASP by zen_violinist

Advantages: Its power to invoke emotion
Disadvantages: Its power to affect your mood.

The Crimson Idol is a beautiful album, which fluctuates between powerful emotions of melancholy, rage and frustration. As a concept album it is dark and depressing. It makes you feel for the character of Jonathan as he deals with beatings from his father, fear, being ignored, running away, his own mocking reflection in the mirror, insanity, the words of a gypsy fortuneteller. The machinations of Chainsaw Charlie, His rise to fame and his fall from ...
...Roktor. The album sweeps in with the aptly named Titanic Overture and ends on a long melancholy reprise track. I love this album, if you like raw emotions in your music; this is what you are looking for because the angst filled tracks come fast and furious from the start ... Read review

Whitesnake release brilliant new album shock!
Review of Good To Be Bad - Whitesnake by BigCS

Advantages: It's the best Whitesnake album in 20 years!
Disadvantages: It might be their last!

...was still a very very good album, but sadly nothing since has been worthy of the Whitesnake name. Until now that is.... This album straddles the old and the new(er) versions of the band and picks from the best of both worlds. The current band has something that was missing from the late 80's and 90's band line-ups - and that something is 'soul'. This band has a feel for the blues that previous guitarists including the widdly widdly king Steve Vai, ...
...a couple of very good ballads, in the style that only David Coverdale can do.... and that voice... oh yeah, he may be well in his mid 50's but that voice is still in very fine fettle indeed. Sounding more mature, as it should do, perhaps a wee bit deeper and more resonant than the early years, there must be a good few years left in this beast yet! All I can say is, if you're at all a fan - buy it, you won't be disappointed! The tracks - 1. Best ... Read review

Extra! Extra! Coverdale flaunts his Whitesnake.
Review of Come An' Get It - Whitesnake by david_1967

Advantages: Good time rock'n'roll with a large drop of blues added for good measure
Disadvantages: Very samey with lyrics that are sometimes hideous

...Track Listing 1   -   Come and Get it 2   -   Hot Stuff 3   -   Don't Break My Heart Again 4   -   Lonely Days, Lonely Nights 5   -   Wine, Women an' Song 6   -   Child of Babylon 7   -   Would I Lie to You 8   -   Girl 9   -   Hit and Run 10 -   Till the Day I Die The guitars, as was very much de rigour on records by the Snakes and many rock bands around at the time, were clean sounding and subdued in the mix.  The bands could never capture ...
...Nowadays, with production techniques having improved, the sound recorded in the studio can match the stage performances to a nearer comparison but during those dark old days of yore fans had to re
