Excellent 1990's Thrash
Advantages: Great Thrash Album, Also Very Talented Musicians Disadvantages: Very Underground Band
...Hell was released in 1989. King Of The Kill is a great album to say the least. Annihilator really did do a great follow up album to Set The World On Fire (1993). King Of The Kill was released in 1994 however it has very late 1980's thrash sound. 'The Box' - This track has a fairly slow beat and is by no means the greatest track on the album, a very rhythm based track.
'King Of The Kill' - This track kicks off with a great thrash guitar riff which ... ...this riff. Classic Thrash.
'Hell Is A War' - A Clean ballad style track to begin with, then the a slow thrash rhythm and the track speeds up towards the end.
Then returns to the intro sytle ballad.
'Bliss' - A Melodic Interlude
'Second To None' - This is a great track and one of my favourites, The thrash riff explodes in with an intense lead solo. About halfway through the track is a great breakdown which is fairly melodic and has a great guitar ...

Good listen for fans of old school metal
Advantages: good riffs, thrash at amongst its best Disadvantages: recording quality bit lacking
Annihilator are said to be a Canadian cross between old school Metallica, Megadeth, Iron maiden, and slayer. In all reality, they are not really any of these but their own branding of thrash metal. This album I chose to review as it was one of their two greatest efforts. This album was their second release, after their critically acclaimed debut ‘Alice in hell’. Good features of this band include singing rather than screaming, fast guitars, and just ... ...is led by guitarist and occasional vocalist Jeff waters. He formed the band in Canada inn 1984. The band’s main success came from their first two releases but the band remains active still with several line up changes. The band is mostly known for Jeff waters’ virtuosic guitar playing ability. Current line up:
Jeff waters: guitar
Dave Padden: vocals, rhythm guitar
Brian Daemon: live bass Alex Landenburg: live drums Song by song review:

Smash up your Living Room
Advantages: Sick twisted and totally guitar based Disadvantages: A little too old school
Alice in Hell... what a title for an album. Instantly to me that says kill small children! And when you first have a listen thats almost how you feel... but not quite.
The opening track Crystal Ann kinda destroys that puppy murdering feeling as it begins with the most fantastic acoustic guitar piece. The biggest surprise is the key change. It is completely unexpected but at the same time fits perfectly to make you feel all warm and snuggly until......
... ...title. Now this is where the shredding starts.. and my god are Annihilator the best ever. Guitar riffs are out of this world and so technical that you'll sit in amazement wondering how it was played. The vocals are very good too, though some of the lyrics are a little obscure.
Anywho, buy the album and find out for yourself. This is not 1 to miss if you are a true guitar/metal/rock/something fan.
A 1989 classic that needs to be heard at least twice ...

Rage Against The Machine Album Review
Advantages: Hard, unconventional rock Disadvantages: An acquired taste
Rap-Metal group Rage Against the Machine released their self-titled debut album in 1992, but the music is just as relevant today as it was back then. Songs like 'Take the Power Back' and 'Freedom' are about individual exploitation by the cultural, social, and political systems in society, and how the people must be willing to rise up and overcome such oppression. You may have also recently heard about the small matter of 'Killing in the Name' beating ... ...when you first listen to Rage is that they mean business. The whole album is intended to provide voice to the silent minority: Those individuals that feel neglected and abused are given hope through the band's resonant, unashamed, confrontational expression. Guitarist Tom Morello's anomalous riffs, rhythmic special effects and extended tapping techniques were some of the most powerful sounds to come from a guitar in that era, and remain unchallenged ...
