Definition of the Thrash Metal Genre

SPREADING THE DISEASE is Anthrax's second album - the first being the disappointing 'FISTFULL OF METAL', with a fresh line up comprising of new bassist Frank Bello, and new vocalist Joey Belladonna. STD starts off with the track A.I.R., and continues with the classic 'Clint Eastwood' inspired "LONE JUSTICE" - all the time building up the tempo and heaviness. "MADHOUSE" shows the humourous side of the band, if not ...
...However, it's tracks like 'THE ENEMY", with it's Adolf Hitler/Jewish Holocaust inspired visions, that show the band in a more intelligent and politically aware light. Whilst this is undoubtedly a thrash metal album - tracks like "AFTERSHOCK" and "GUNG HO" will testify to this - it also shows that not all thrash metal is about speed. There's also a lot of thought gone into it too. One of the highlights of the album is perhaps "ARMED AND DANGEROUS", ...

Attack of the Killer B’s was not released as a new Anthrax album and is just a collection of B sides and unreleased material. This though is what makes it special. There’s funny stuff like N.F.B (DALLABNIKCUFECIN) and I’m the Man ’91 as well as live versions of Belly of the Beast and Keep it in the Family. This shows the lighter side of the band and this is a side that many of the angry scowling bands are not willing to show but it brings them on ...

Disadvantages: hard to find in shops, ostly have to go online.

To be honest i think this is one of there most underated albums. this album is very powerful to listen to, not just because of the thrashing chugga chugga riffs, but the lyrics can be clever to:) When i first heard the album i admit i was a little dissapointed, i was expecting it so have a massive instant impact on me like among the living. But i think this is one of those albums that will deffinatley grow on you with time, each time i play this ...

PERSISTANCE OF GREAT SONGS!!

When i first heard this album, i was instantly amazed:) the sound is so crisp , i think that this is a much darker album than previous ones, but equally as good. I think it just shows that the band like to try new sounds, and they do it very well:) This album contains classic songs like bellyof the beast, got the time and in my world. this shows the band at there best before joey left.
