Personally doomsday machine is my favourite arch enemy album, it gets the balance right between power and creativity and doesn't bore the listener. Some of the riffs on this album are fantastic and very original, the solos are very good, and the first time I heard the vocals I could not believe such a sound could come from a woman!
Needless to say I was very impressed with this album, after listening to wages of sin, ... ...peak of Arch Enemy's stand out sound.
Stand out tracks (for good an bad reasons)
Nemesis: this song had a video made for it and quite rightly so. The whole song is a fast paced attack on the senses and is generally a favoured track from this band; it's like the "battery" of Arch Enemy, for the metallica fans that read this review.

The First time I was introduced to Arch Enemy was on the television show Uranium on Fuse, back when Metal Mistress Juliya was there, and they seemed to somewhat care about heavy metal. Juliya was doing a feature on different women in metal and the present lead singer for the death metal band Arch Enemy, Angela Gossow was one of the people interviewed. I also got the chance to hear the song "We Will Rise".
The song We will Rise is very motivational ... ...itself. The meaning is quite self explanatory. It's about metalheads rising about mainstream music such as pop, rap, hip hop and so on. Other popular songs on the album are Leader of the Rats and Dead Eyes See no Future. I strongly recommend metalhead to listen to those two. TRACK LIST:

After the recent change of singer from the previous, Johan Liiva, Arch enemy made a bold move to change singer with a female, Angela Gosscow, who pulls off the singing with style. The singing is noticeablly perfected with the unique range of sounds, from growls to screams, it goes perfectly with the death-crunch behind all the music.

Tyrants of the Rising Sun by Arch Enemy is an awesome set of 2 CD's of live concert and a DVD which contains a film of a concert in early 2008 and a 40 minute road movie. Arch Enemy have been brilliant since the arrival of Angela Gossow in 2001, the pretty lead singer has a voice from the bowels of hell and adds real stage presence. In no Arch Enemy album to date has their been such an energetic feel to the music, you can really feel it on this live ... ...insane for metal. As Gossow bounds around the stage, occasionally higher than the rest of the band as she booms out from a podium with a state of authority it assures you that this is definitely not a woman you'd like to have an argument with! One of the few female vocalists in metal to not go with the tried and tested yet relatively dull melodic sound, she has awesome growling vocals which are a match for any male metal vocalist on the planet. A truly fantastic album by Arch Enemy
The album starts of with a nice harmonised heavy metal song, which leads into heavier, riff crazy songs.
The crunching guitar riffs contrast well with the fantastic lead guitar parts and screaming vocals, the band takes metal to a whole new level offering a variety of heavy metal songs that will make you want to pick up a guitar and play yourself - Arch Enemy Truly outdo themselves with this immense album.
