WE LOVE YOU BILLY!

Advantages: This album blows all other bands out of your butt.
Disadvantages: Once you start, you can't stop. Withdrawal symptoms apply.

This album is - in my opinion - the greatest punk album ever made. I bought this album around three months ago and now I listen to it all the way through at least once a day on the bus (most days once on the way to college, and once on the way home - sometimes more). You might think I'm an obsessive fanatic. But buy the album for yourself and you will realise just how right I am. Every song on this album is addictive, energetic and will leave you ...

Skid "balls to the wall" Row

Advantages: If you are singer, you must hear this
Disadvantages: No disandvantiges

Great fu##in' balls to the wall HARD rock! In this album, above all, you can hear great singing qualities of one of hair metal's greatest frontmans of all time, mr. Sebastian Bach; but nothing would be in right place, if there were no song writing qualities of Rachel Bolan and Dave "the Snake" Sabo. This five men set standards for hard rock and heavy metal of that time(1989); and if you ask me, they were the last band who brought something new ...
...and new metal shit, 'cos they are not HARD rock). If you are into nice boys with bad attitude and, above all, great music, than this is a must-have for you; and if you are not into this type of music than this is a must-hear for you. With Love from Pit Snake (the82snake@yahoo.com) ...

Not so much a triumph,,,

Advantages: It's not a bad metal album
Disadvantages: Too many throw-away songs...

...of the 1992 release The Triumph of Steel? The band… Eric Adams – vocals David Shankle – guitars* Joey DeMaio – bass Rhino (aka Kenny Earl Edwards) – drums* *These two had just replaced long-standing Ross "The Boss" Friedman - guitar Scott Columbus – drums, who had left the band, but this was the only album to feature both these new musicians. Columbus returned for the next few albums, however. The songs… "Achilles, Agony and Ecstasy ...
...Storms the Wall II. The Death of Patroclus III. Funeral March IV. Armor of the Gods V. Hector's Final Hour VI. Death Hector's Reward VII. The Desecration of Hector's Body Part 1 Part 2 VIII. The Glory of Achilles . This is the epitome of all that is Manowar. Crunching guitar, varied changes in melody, then quieter moments; He-Man vocals, grit and heroism. It is a classically long tune and one that has (almost) stood the test of time. The Death of ...

Slaves To The Grind

Advantages: Origanallity and a big step forward.
Disadvantages: None

In 1991 when Slave To The Grind came out, to be quite honest, I wasn't looking forward to the new Skid Row record. It didn't seem like no big deal, just another "cockrock" record was about to be unleashed & the world was getting pretty tired of all the pretty boy bands that were emerging, most of whom could be written off as one hit wonders. So many bands were coming out with only one, maybe two, good songs on an album and the rest of the album would ...
...audience was being ripped off on a daily basis. There were so many new releases of new bands that looked liked a throw back to earlier bands not to mention there poor attempt to copy a more sucessful sound. There were even new bands that tried to look and sound like other new bands. You had to be careful, the record industry couldn't be trusted. Many fans got tired of the bullshit and started listening to gangster rap, others went back to the 70's. ...

Fists Like Hammers Fill the Air

Advantages: A couple of great Manowar epics to add to the list.
Disadvantages: Largely disappointing and feeble, with weak production.

...issues of space. 1. Fighting the World 2. Blow Your Speakers 3. Carry On 4. Violence and Bloodshed 5. Defender 6. Drums of Doom 7. Holy War 8. Master of Revenge 9. Black Wind, Fire and Steel The first four tracks have a noticeably different audience than the later songs, and it's clear they were placed at the beginning, as usual with Manowar releases, to provide something more straightforward for newcomers that won't put them off persevering ...
...an awful lot to put people off in these arrogant and hypocritical heavy metal anthems, which display a far more commercial side of the band not heard since the opening songs of 'Battle Hymns,' before the band found its feet. 'Fighting the World' itself is a medium pace rocker with lyrics that are too embarrassing even to be considered amusing in the traditional Manowar sense ('stripes on a tiger don't wash away / Manowar's made of steel, not clay'), ...
