Wonderful Progressive Black Metal

Advantages: Holds your intrest, is otherwordly.
Disadvantages: None

Formed back in 1991 and hailing from Norway, Enslaved have been at the forefront of this genre along with a few other bands. Though they started out as predominantly a Black Metal band from Norway, their progressive leanings kicked in around 1997 with their album ELD, and from this album on, you definitely hear other genres slipping into their music from using clean vocals, growls and screams, to clean guitars, unusual chord structures, melodic rhythms ...
...of. I particularly love the fact that some of the lyrics are Norwegian, whichs makes for more of an Auditory experience than concentrating on the intellect of the lyrical content, which, what I can understand, is very well written. this album was released in 2004 and is their 8th full length studio album. Here is a quick run down on what to expect from each song: Intro: Green Reflection" – 0:51 A visceral introduction... a feeling of floating ...

Definately a must listen.

Advantages: lots of distortion, fast paced, and incorperates different subgenres of metal
Disadvantages: long, could give you a headache if you listen to it for too long

...album, and it's definately different. Monotheist has a a much darker and more sinister sound, whitch is a bit more common with doom metal, or gothic metal. The main thing I like about this album is the last three songs, all starting with the word "Triptych", but they're all totally different. The first one, entitled "Totengott", is definately the creepiest out of these three songs, but not the creepiest out of the album. I think that song would ...
...is definately the longest song in the album, at over 14 minutes long. I think that 14 minutes is a little long, but it's worth the listening. Satyr from Satyricon takes lead vocals for a little bit in the song. You get a more Celtic Frost feel in this song. The last one, called Winter (Requiem, Chapter Three: Finale), is the prettiest and the only instrumental song on this CD, and it's beautiful. There's no other words to describe it. So, all in ...

Best Cradle album.

Advantages: Creates an atmosphere felt with very few albums
Disadvantages: You have to be in the right mood to listen to it

Already being the proud owner of five different cradle of filth albums, when my dad decided he disliked "Damnation and a day" i offered him a few quid for it. What i received was my favourite Cradle album. The album creates a huge atmosphere and in depth world. This is mainly done because it features the 40-piece Budapest Film Orchestra and 32-piece Budapest Film Choir. The concept The album is in four parts. The first two parts tell of the ...
...about satan's manipulation on Earth. So overall the album is based on the old testament. The lyrics The lyrics are some of my favourites. "Angels in raiments, As pure as coal, Taking their payments, In tortured mortal souls" The lyrics arn't for the faint hearted and arn't too popular with Christians but they are intelligent. You cannot base intelligence on opinion. The tracks I. Fantasia Down "A Bruise Upon the Silent Moon" (Intro) ...

Awesome and original album produced by italian gothic rockers.

Advantages: Always original and follows its own path.
Disadvantages: Not for people who prefer more Mainstream rock.

...ablums and the cover of Karmacode amongst other things stood out to me. I bought it and went home and while I was listening to it i just didn't turn it off. All of the tracks that were on the album definitely deserved another listen. One of the songs that really stood out to me on the Album was the song "Enjoy the Silence", a Depeche Mode cover. What really got me in this song was the was Cristina Scabbia and Andrea Ferro's (the lead singers) voices ...
...It was definitely different to any other rock songs I had heard from artists that are described as similar to them such as Evanescence and Within Temptation. It sounded like a song that would stand out amongst other songs. Another song that I thought was exeptional was "Our Truth". It definitely differed largely from the rest with use of unusual instuments such as the sitar and the dulcimer which wouldn't usually be used in rock music. What struck ...

So What Was Your Favourite Colour Again?

Advantages: Lots of bangers
Disadvantages: Some tracks need time to grow

In 1988 came the release of the debut album from Living Colour. “Vivid” has the Hard Rock band, noted for an all-black line up (out of New York City) brining the material that led to their breakthrough as they unleash a record that features their unique blend of the contemporary Hard Rock with Metal, Funk and Hip Hop. 1. “Cult of Personality” The album begins with the band’s debut and breakthrough single. I felt that it was the perfect way to get ...
...the kinds of things that led to the creation of such an act whereby you get some raw Hard Rock (completely with influence from contemporary Punk and Metal along the way) as they perform a politically-charged joint that gave them the chance to make their first impact on the game. **Five Stars** 2. “I Want To Know” It felt as though we were able to get things calmed right down for this one as they give us a chance to experience a whole different ...
