This is a very difficult album to review for me... the Priest were one of the first metal bands I became a fan of back in my teen days in 1978, so I've been with them every step of the way for the last 30 years now. Over that time they've released several classic albums... Stained Class, Killing Machine, British Steel, Screaming For Vengeance, Painkiller, and even the last album 'Angel Of Retribution'. ...new one... heck, this one had me stumped from the day they announced the concept (what were they thinking of?), until I actually bought it and gave it a few listens. Based loosely on the life and prophecies of Nostradamus, it's a double CD. A lot of it sounds like your typical Judas Priest material, but a lot of it is far from it. This is a review of City, the 2nd album of Strapping Young Lad the Canadian Progressive/Extreme metal band. This album is often critically acclaimed as the best work of Strapping Young Lad, to add to that Devin Townsend is often cited as a genius. ...vocals, some songs on the album like Detox are pretty good but others like Oh My F***ing God just sound like progressive industrial metal with a muffled sound that represents a result similar to a heavier version of what Mike Patton is up to these days (if you've seen it), which is basically just making a racket! The Negation is Decapitated's 3rd album and was released in 2004 by Wicked World Records. It's one of their best albums in my eyes although it still has some weak points. ...of the symbols so hard, you'd think they'd fall off. 2 - Three Dimensional Effect - Machine gun metal guitar playing with a crazy solo that sounds like Joe Satriani in the middle of a war! Advantages: Good technically, still quite aggressive, Day 69 is a great track
Disadvantages: A bit unmemorable and a change in style

...through the albums. Post Organic is another good track with some particularly good solos but personally I'm a bigger fan of the 2000 album - Winds of Creation and in particular the early demos of the band when they are just young, drunk and focussed on death metal. Revelation of Existence on this album really has little going for the average listener. It's definitely not their best album but I think it may go down as their most well remembered one ...

I do not own this product, but what more do I have to say to anyone who wishes to buy this product than IT'S CANNIBAL CORPSE!!! Hence, metal head with half a brain who has happened to listen to Cannibal Corpse a few times must know that this album should be one of the sickest most brutal albums you have ever heard. This is not for the squeamish, people, and this album is most certainly not for Dave Matthews Band lovers and anyone who loves anything ... Read review
