Advantages: A number of excellent tracks feature on this release. Disadvantages: Not as hard hitting an album as Millencolin releases of the past.
For a long time now I have admired the sweet sound of the music of Millencolin. The band actually formed in Sweden back in 1992, 'Machine 15' is the bands seventh studio album to date and it must be said that my opinion is that the bands best ever album has to be seen as 'Pennybridge Pioneers'. Released in the year 2000, 'Pennybridge Pioneers' was exceptionally well crafted from start to finish and never was the music in the slightest bit disappointing. ... ...since 2000 and is I believe an album well worth listening to. This album begins brilliantly and although it is not the strongest that this band has ever released, 'Machine 15' is I feel another excellent album to have been put out there by the supreme Swedish force that is Millencolin.
One noticeable quality about this 'Machine 15' album is that the music is not quite so hard hitting as has been known in the past. The band has here favoured a more ...
Advantages: Song structure is strong, the album is always excellent to listen to. Disadvantages: The music is not hugely original.
...through Burning Heart Records/Epitaph, 'The Absinthe Dreams' is the second studio album from the Swedish metalcore band that is Path Of No Return. The album consists of eleven tracks and clocks in at just over 42 minutes in length; it's a pretty decent album and although not perfect, Path Of No Return is most definitely a band that is good at what it does. Path Of No Return sets out to attempt nothing new here, 'The Absinthe Dreams' would not win ... ...Title track 'The Absinthe Dreams' is most definitely one of my absolute favourites from this album, it's instrumental to begin with and then at about a minute in the music really begins to explode. There's the light sound of drumming, a pleasant underlying bass sound, and slight guitar stroke also; at the 45 second mark the vocals begin to roll and build in power as they charge through the track. There are a couple of instrumental sections utilised ...
Advantages: The best album they have done so far! Disadvantages: There are none! Its the best!
I first heard the songs from this album when I downloaded them, but that wasn't good enough. After hearing them they were so good I just had to buy the album! My fave turbonegro dude has to be euroboy - he really has changed the style of their music since becoming their lead guitarist. The best song on this album has to be ' blow me like the wind'! You first think its quite a rude song but now I understand they are just singing about being on a boat ... ...Another good song is 'all my friends are dead '. Euroboys solo in the middle always gets my heart beating and after seeing this song live - the crowd just goes wild. They all sing along.
The song 'hard stuff hard s**t' is also a fantastic track! Its about a sexy war reporter in Iraq and how she shouldnt be there - but back home! As where she is, is very dangerous and so is so beautiful.
Out of all the songs if I had to pick my least faveourite ...
Advantages: Return to top form for the Swedish four-piece. Disadvantages: Not as good as Pennybridge Pioneers, but that's impossible really.
...able to see them live. Kingwood is a fantastic album, it really is. All 12 songs are different in their own right, and while not being ground-breakingly original or innovative, produce new and improved sounds.
Main Review
------------------
Kingwood is brilliant. Enough said really. Although it doesn't quite equal the sublime existence of Pennybridge Pioneers, it can't really be compared anyway. The two albums sound virtually non-related, and ... ...what they are now. And Kingwood is their latest chapter in their aging adventure. But what a chapter it is.

Brilliant opening track ...
Advantages: An excellent album from Refused full of lyrical intelligence and musical depth. Disadvantages: Refused split up a full decade ago.
...of the release of 'The Shape of Punk to Come' album from Refused. Refused was a Swedish Hardcore Punk band and active between the years of 1991 and 1998. 'The Shape of Punk to Come' was the last album that the band would ever release, an album that marked a dramatic change from their earlier work and is considered by most to be the best album that the band ever released. Ten years on it is still an album which is held in extremely high regard, and ... ...had a track entitled 'The Shape of Funk to Come' on their 'Songs of Innocence and Experience' album, and Sonic Boom Six have a track called 'The Rape of Punk to Come' on their 'Sounds To Consume' EP. It is clear that although Refused as a band are long since dead, their impact upon modern Punk music is still being felt today and this is due to the exceptional quality which their music possessed. The music of Refused possessed a great energy, and ...
