It starts off with Blizzard of Flames a easy listening intro and then straight into the first track "Wipe it Till it Bleeds" which has a relentless repetitive guitar riff which lifts you up and you just know that this is what Rock and Roll is all about. The album is a superb mixture of Punk Rock with tracks like ...
...Sound to another level. "Sell Your Body to The Night" which has an incredibly sleazy stoogiesesque riff. The nihilistic lyrical sentiment of "Drenched in Blood", "Ride with Us" and "Turbonegro Must Be Destroyed", but this is more than just a punk rock album. Review of Scandinavian Leather - Turbonegro

Pennybridge Quality!

Advantages: Great songs with a wide variation in tempo and style.
Disadvantages: Only really for Millencolin fans or punk rock enthusiasts.

This was the second album i had purchased by Millencolin and was undoubtedly better than the first (Home From Home) which was also good. There is a lot more variation in the tracks, with fast paced songs such as Pepper and ballads, such as The Ballad. Originality - Although Millencolin do not seem to be much different from other punk rock bands out there, they have a unique style blending the guitars, bass and drums well along with strong vocals ...
...quite random in a way but some (eg. The Ballad) have hard hitting and meaningful lyrics. Quality And Consistency Of Tracks - Most of the tracks are very good on this album and everyone who owns a Millencolin album prior to this will enjoy the continued greatness from this Sweidsh band. Review of Pennybridge Pioneers - Millencolin

Rubbish,Rotten, Repulsive

Advantages: A few decent songs
Disadvantages: over half of it is crap,vocals

Once upon a time, I was very into the whole Punk Scene, by that I refer to what is currently known as the punk scene, ala all those bands on Epitaph records and such, NOFX,Pennywise...you know the type. Im not now, but I can still look back on some CDs purchased during this time, and semi-relate to what I was enjoying in them. One such CD I cannot is this. Because Im Mr.Finger On the Pulse (not really), I was actually alerted to Sweden's The Hives ...
...also grew to dislike them before they became famous. Don't like the Hives? My bandwagon you are jumping on. Ok, so Im sure others hated them first, but I deserve honourable mention, because I liked them for a bit before seeing the light. My first encounter with the Hives came on a VHS tape I found retailling for about 2 quid, named Punxploitation. astounding

Advantages: Totally amazing and boundary destroying
Disadvantages: A bit strange sometimes, unflinching political message might scare people off

Good lord, where am i going to start with this album? Refused, previously a decidedly dodgy, Equal Vision by numbers hardcore band, totally redefined themselves on their final opus, and took most of the hardcore genre with them. The scene is still plagued by Refused copyists, but none of them are ever going to capture this spark. Witness the opening salvo of "worms of the senses/faculties of the skull" - a minute of noise gateways to well paced ...
...Rage-esque buildup. It is an amazing way to open an album, mixing dischordant and scrambling instrumentation with Denis' characteristic (and frankly incredible) screaming conveying his usual political agenda: "I GOT A BONE TO PICK WITH CAPITALISM... AND A FEW TO BREAK!". Incidentally, Refused are one of the few bands who make political songs non-preachy or boring, and along with Dillinger Four, opened my eyes to a whole new way of thinking with songs ...

Review of Shape Of Punk To Come, The - Refused

another hit album

Advantages: amazing
Disadvantages: none

Though i do prefer millencolins later albums such as home from home (check review) i do also like their early albums as well. The problem for me is that this album does after a while get on my nerves some of the songs are slightly annoying which hamper my enjoyment of this album, though dont get me wrong there are some very cool tracks also. Like i have mentioned before millencolin are a sweedish punk band (im still shocked about that), though ...
...as nofx and bad religion. This album is different they have a slighty annoying voice and remind me of the younger days of NOFX. This album comes with 14 tracks, the better songs to look out for are move your car and vulcan ears to me these stick out way above the rest. The sound on this album is a lot more upbeat, all the songs are fun to listen to with their fast guitar riffs and amazing bass, the bass lines are real cool you should listen to ...
