I Sense A Change
Review of Sense Of Purpose, A - In Flames by
Edzed
Advantages: Clearer Sound Compared to past albums, larger target audience, more adventurous drumming
Disadvantages: Not for those who like raw death metal, more clean vocals could be a put off
A Sense of Purpose is a huge step, or in some peoples' opinions a great fall for In Flames. Looking back at the previous In Flames albums, A Sense of Purpose doesn't have a style close to any of the previous albums, however if you are a long-term In Flames fan, you will have already noticed that the raw "Death Metal" sound that In Flames possessed with the earlier albums, for example Lunar Strain, Subterranean and Jester Race is slowly progressing ... ..."mainstream," I believe that "A Sense of Purpose" is the most "mainstream" sounding album to date, attracting new In Flames fans that would not usually listen to In Flames. If you own the In Flames album, "Come Clarity," and like the cleaner sound In Flames adopted in that album, I believe that is the closest preview to this In Flames album, which furthers the transistion In Flames have made to an album full of songs with clean vocals and less raw ...

Yet another great album
Review of Worm Infested [Digipak] [PA] - Cannibal Corpse by
RedTape
Advantages: Everything
Disadvantages: none
I do not own this product, but what more do I have to say to anyone who wishes to buy this product than IT'S CANNIBAL CORPSE!!! Hence, metal head with half a brain who has happened to listen to Cannibal Corpse a few times must know that this album should be one of the sickest most brutal albums you have ever heard. This is not for the squeamish, people, and this album is most certainly not for Dave Matthews Band lovers and anyone who loves anything ...

Brutal! (In a good way)
Review of Live Cannibalism - Cannibal Corpse by
Smitty83
Advantages: Great sound, amazing talent!
Disadvantages: In my personal opinion, none!
...Cannibalism" is an amazingly powerful live album, by the gods of death metal themselves, and you get just what you'd expect; a truely brutal performance, insanely accurate technical guitar playing and blast beats on drums, and George Fisher's unique low growl.
For a live performance, the quality is good as well, no unwanted sound distortion, just the right level of audio mix between the band and the crowds noise, and everything cuts through cleanly ... ...death metal, this is definately a must have. Not only do you get a selection of some of the bands best songs, from "Staring Through The Eyes Of The Dead" to "Hammer Smashed Face", but you get to see just how talented these guys are live.
Highlights of the album?
"I Cum Blood" and "Fucked With A Knife" are really something on this, but really, if you're a fan of Cannibal Corpse then the whole album is a highlight! ...

one of the best
Review of Wretched Spawn - Cannibal Corpse by
darkrider666
Advantages: briliant tracks and lyrics
Disadvantages: may freak some people out
Formed in 1988, Buffalo born/Tampa raised Cannibal Corpse helped found, manipulate and transcend the very boundaries of death metal beginning with the scandalously controversial debut, Eaten Back To Life.
Raising the eyebrows of inquisitive metal-heads and incensed parents and politicians, the record - produced by Scott Burns at the now renowned Morrisound Studios - was more extreme and confrontational than anything the metal genre had ever known.
... ...cover art, grisly lyrics and song titles like "Hammer Smashed Face," "Meat Hook Sodomy" and "Addicted To Vaginal Skin," follow-up records Butchered At Birth (1991) and Tomb Of The Mutilated (1992) were met with further contempt by the likes of such organized censorship leagues as the PMRC.
In just three years, the sale of Cannibal Corpse merchandise was (temporarily) prohibited in Australia, Korea and New Zealand (in fact, the sale of Butchered ...
