A Great Introduction To A Great Band

Opening with the heavy Queen of the Reich, followed by the melodic The Lady Wore Black, you know straght away that Queensryche are capable of more than just standard heavy metal riffing. ...evident on bonus track Someone Else which has some haunting saxophone lines, again elevating Queensryche above the competition. A final mention must go to the incredible vocals of Geoff Tate, who stands alongside Rob Halford of Judas Priest as one of the best rock/metal singers around. Of course, not every track is a classic, but it's definitely worth a listen, because there are some truly great songs on this compilation- songs with a level of originality ...

blink are back

Advantages: all their best songs...so far
Disadvantages: none

...shortly after, I think a greatest hits was a nice album to release just before they split up as even though it was sad they were over, it was good to actually look back and listen to how much great songs they actually released over the years. ...and sell it as their greatest hits, I was pleased to hear blink 182 had actually re-recorded every single song on this album, and even changed a few of the tracks, for example the start of carousel is completely different to the original. They did also do some bonus tracks, I wont be home for Christmas and their live go was good however my favourite must be their cover of another girl another planet, its just great. Alice Cooper's Greatest Hits

Advantages: Great selection, great track order.
Disadvantages: The Beast Of Alice Cooper has two extra tracks

...the same tracks as the Greatest Hits and two more (Department Of Youth and Only Women Bleed). It is my personal opinion that the order of the tracks is better on the Greatest Hits. I would recommend this album to those unfamiliar with most of Alice Cooper's work as it has his best songs and interesting artwork. I would recommend the Beast Of Alice Cooper to those more familiar with Alice Cooper and would prefer to have the two additional tracks. ...

Advantages: Amazing vocals, lyrics and guitar work.
Disadvantages: not that I have found!

A brutal showdown of power

Advantages: brutal production, powerfull and skillfull musicianship killer songs from a legend
Disadvantages: the moment it's over

Hell yeah this one kept me going on several occasions. Testament's The gathering was a statement when the band released this cd. Being one of the first big american trash metal bands back in the 80's Testament never became as popular as Megadeth, Anthrax, Slayer of Metallica.
