Worth a Bet...
Advantages: They don't let you down... what you'd expect... Disadvantages: None really
Picture, if you can, a young man wearing jeans and leather, trying to grow his hair, but finding he looked more like a poodle than a rock star - which is probably what he was trying to portray (the rock star, not the poodle). Well, that would-be rock star impersonator is me and it is hard to believe that that man was once I. It was around that era that I discovered Helloween for the first time.
Helloween hail from Germany and their first album was ... ...changes - some members sacked, some quit and some forced to leave due to ill health. 'Gambling with the Devil' is their thirteenth album and the line up is a follows: Andi Deris - Vocals
Michael Weikath - Guitars
Sascha Gerstner - Guitars
Marcus Grobkopt - Bass
Dani Loble - Drums
I eventually gave up on growing my hair, it just got too curly at the back, and for a short period I gave up on Helloween. Years pass in life and change occurs. The ...

Street Poets from Finland
Advantages: An upbeat album featuring a few tracks of Glam Rock glory. Disadvantages: Some of the tracks fast become really rather irritating.
Having formed in Finland way back in 1979 and split up in 1985 after the death of their drummer, Hanoi Rocks reformed in 2002 and are now very much making the most of their second wind. It is an interesting one that a band should reform nearly twenty years on, however I am very glad that they did as since returning they have released a further three albums of varying quality. 'Street Poetry' is the latest album from Hanoi Rocks and was given its ... ...Although only two of the original band members remain in the band, those being vocalist Michael Monroe and guitarist Andy McCoy; you should not let this fact put you off as Hanoi Rocks are still making some great music. Featuring the single 'Fashion' which went straight to Number 1 when released in Finland, 'Street Poetry' is thirteen tracks strong and is definitely worth a listen.
'Street Poetry' is an album which will not be to everyone's taste, ...

The Keys to the Kingdom
Advantages: Top vocals, guitars and metal Disadvantages: none
Do you remember the eighties? Remember those eighties bands… sure you do: bands like Duran Duran, Tears for Fears, Human League and… Helloween. ‘Helloween?’ you shriek. What in blue blazes is that all about? Well, they were not an eighties band in the way ‘eighties bands’ are depicted, but they certainly were around at the time. Whereas the aforementioned bands played soft synth pop, Helloween played Metal…
Heirs to The Scorpions, Helloween hail ... ...of Metal, Helloween play it fast, they were and are a Thrash Metal Act. Still at it now in 2007, I am reviewing their third album which was originally produced in February 1987 and then repackaged along with bonus tracks in 2006. They have been through a few band member changes since, but the line-up at the time of ‘Keeper of the 7 Keys Part 1’ was as follows:
Michael Kiske – Lead Vocals
Kai Hansen – Lead Guitar, Backing Vocals
Marcus Grobkopt ...

Hypocrisy "Virus" Review
Advantages: Great album, great artwork Disadvantages: Maybe too much blast beats for some.
...are better than others. However, Virus is not only their best album to date, but is the most compelling. An extra guitarist can make a difference, and Hypocrisy is back and better than ever. The album starts with nice introduction and then rips into the first track. All the songs on this album are great. However, "Let the Knife do the talking" is my personal favorite. Every track was written well, the melodic fast past style mixes well with Tagtgen's ...
