What an album this is! I'd never really had much confidence in Iced Earth as they always seemed to me like they went through singers like a couch potato through a bag of chips. But Matthew Barlow proves that he is the man for this band on this excellent album. The album starts as it means to continue - a melodic intro leads into a blistering power metal assault of galloping rhythm guitars, screaming vocals and drums pounding fast and hard enough ...
...bands mettle in the best possible way, blazing a hard path to follow. The second CD, unfortunately, doesn't quite live up to the standard of the first, although it does contain the exquisitely sung Burnt Offerings, the bands anthem Iced Earth and the beast song they ever made, Dante's Inferno. Iced Earth are back again, the accomplished heavy metalers are back with this 'Horror Show'. This album features a lot of great song's and a couple of classic's. Transylvania (4.25) This, an instrumental piece, is a fast barrage of fast riffing and amazing lead's. I was very impressed by the first riff wich gives this song a bit of a thrash feel to it. The second riff was stunning, and absolute classic riff, and the lead wich was played after it ...
...supply of classic riff's. The solo was nice and bluesy and worked well with the earlier lead riff. Rating: 10/10 The Phantom Opera Ghost (8.40) A very operatic feel to the start of this song, a nicely played classical/acoustic riff. Then..in kicks the distortion, the drums and bass and away we go! The guitars play some fantasic rhythm on this song, and the drummer loves his double-bass. The singer has perfect vocal's as usual, and they have a guest ... Read review

When I was young, I think I'm already 6 years old. I heard one of the song of Scorpions the "Wind of Change". At first, I really don't mind who is the author of that song and I'm too young to be curious to that. When I reach the age of teens, I am curious to know the author and I know now " Scorpions" . I really like all of their song but the first song I've heard is "Wind of Change". That's song I can't forgot of the Scorpions because I've heard ...
...and it's played a background sound of one of the famous dramas here in my country. The songs of the scorpions is too high pitch for me, I can't reach the tone of the voice. I just sometimes sing their song with my guitar, that can't make me bored. I bought some of their CD's and until now I played it.. but because now I have my own internet, I just see their videos here in my computer. So relax to hear their song, indeed! ... Read review

Welcome to Hell is a superb debut album by Venom. Released in January 1981 on Neat Records, it brought a whole new meaning to heavy metal as this Newcastle NWOBHM band produced the hardest album with the darkest material to date at that time. Even now, it doesn't sound tame and still comes across as hard albeit incredibly raw. The producing is poor and the musicians are quite sloppy at times but this just adds to the devil spawn that is Welcome ...
...first Black Metal album (although the band's 2nd album coined the term) but where it betters later albums is that it has catchy punk elements to the music and lyrics worthy of Motorhead when they are on top form. Despite the dubious musicianship on the album, the riffs and choruses in particular are so catchy that they are very memorable and easy to sing along to.. "Welcome to Hell", "Schizoid" and the chanting type track "In League with Satan" ... Read review
