I don't see myself as an insider of the rock- and metalszene in Europe, but nevertheless I recognize, of which topics metalfans are annoyed. This might be the 12th DVD single release by Manowar or black salsify-eating Black Metal bands throwing heads of dead sheeps into their audiences (me, I will going to bombard Mayhem with the skull of an elephant next time I see them on stage. Just for fun.). Or even a new live album by Iron Maiden.
For a better ... ...The Road" is not really the very first live release from this favourite band of mine. Back catalogue already containing various live albums, for instance the legendary "Live After Death" from 1986, which is still considered to be the best Iron Maiden live album ever by lots of Maiden maniacs. Othern highlights on this album are The Thin line between love and hate and the second single Out of the silent planet. This album is classic Maiden but doesn't feel dated and fits in amongst todays artists. If you own Seventh son and don't own brave new world. Then you should its maiden back to thier best. ...

In Flames - Come Clarity
Yet another of my 14 year old (next months) son's offerings which he insists 'You must listen to this dad'. This is by no means my longest review as I am not going to 'fill' when I have not much to say.
Wikipedia tell me that these are a Swedish melodic death metal band.....not a good start, however, being am open minded dad I thought I should give them a a go. The title of the album is also the title of the first song. This song starts with an eerie electronic introduction, rapidly interrupted by the beat of the classic death metal rhythm guitar. More high-pitched melodic death metal style guitar plays over this intrductory shock until the croaky, gritty screaming breaks in, highlighted by the thundering beat ... ...unexpected high-pitched "chipmunk" sound voice which plays as a background for high-pitched screamy chorus. Following this is another screamy set of verses and chorus. Then a blisteringly fast, but shortlived solo with the high-pitched guitar. Not the best song on the album, but certainly not bad!
