One Cold Winter's Night... Gets me hot ;)
Review of One Cold Winter's Night - Kamelot by GerlofL

Advantages: Awesome
Disadvantages: you also have to sleep.

...says it is based on one of Norways first popsongs, so when the crowd recognizes it they start cheering, and I can not blame them. He makes the crowd sing the intro with him, and they do, they tie down, while the music plays greatly and then makes space for his vocals. Vocals are highly enjoyable, the lyrics are well suited, and great for singing along, the music is only dominating when it is the deal, so the entire song, even though its wild, its ...
...2 vocalists there is not one flaw to detect, I can not do anything else then giving this a 10, although They both deserve a 10, but since its Kamelots tour I can only give a 10. PS, seen this live, she windmills ( headbangs in a circle so her long orange/red hair turns around like a windmill ), awesome. Track 11: 'Moonlight' ~ Length: 5:10 ~ 10/10 Well, you are sad Simone left again, but that does not last too long, because when the music starts ... Read review

Kamelot - The Black Halo
Review of Black Halo, The - Kamelot by Melvyninja

Advantages: Heavier, Darker, Emotive, Good place to start listening to Kamelot
Disadvantages: None, bar the second part of a story, a bit confusing for new listeners

...concept with the masterpiece, The Black Halo. The album could be considered darker, and more emotive than Epica, and the music certainly reflects this. The album contains a mixture of slower, balladic songs, medium tempo Horn Thrusters and allegro-fast head bangers. Allied with the breath taking vocals of Roy Kahn, there is alot of chance for keyboardist Oliver Patoli and guitarist Thomas Youngblood to show off. Songs to Bang your Noggin' to: ...

Kamelot - Ghost Opera
Review of Ghost Opera - Kamelot by GerlofL

Advantages: Solid tracks, the same trusted Roy Khan vocals.
Disadvantages: Maybe a little too far from the Kamelot tree, tried to hard.

As always, the albumart alone is enough to make you buy the album and just see what it is at home, however, as a true fan of Roy Khans vocals, I knew I was in for a treat. The songs are different from the older Kamelot stuff, this is good and bad. Good because they should be expending, and besides, it still sounds like a treat, I love listening to it and got tickets for the concert. However, it sounds like they tried to remix somewhat to much, ...
...to be heared, which makes me a little sad, because they know to use anything and make a awesome track out of it. I would not recommend this if you are a person that knows 'Call of the Sea' out of your head, otherwise, it is a good album, really worth listening. ... Read review

Trivium's best effort yet
Review of Shogun (Parental Advisory) [PA] - Trivium by dangaroo

Advantages: A huge improvement on previous work
Disadvantages: Lyrics a bit too stereotypical

Shogun is Trivium's latest album, the band's 4th in their 8 year career. They have regularly been criticised for being Metallica copycats, Shogun however can't be accused of that as it is definitely categorically their own style and tracks. There are a few things about Matt Heafy's vocals that don't appeal to me, there's a hint of the whingeyness that can often be found in current metal bands... on the other hand there is growls and grunts worthy ...
...magical mystical world. The changes in tempo are also rather sudden and add a fun feeling to the album (at least the first few times you listen to it) as each corner is full of surprises. The tracks are a bit too long for my liking though. Lyrically it doesn't do a great deal for me as it is the standard battle and monster lyrics of death, viking and occasionally power metal that are regularly regurgatated in different forms. I have to say that I've ... Read review

Metallica Death Magnetic: 11 Tracks Heavy Metal Released 12/09/2008 In my honest oppinion this is an amazing album, ive not been a fan long but i have heard all of their albums they are simply an amazing band. ...being in a mosh pit with that playing :D The end of the Line: This one didnt get my attention straight away. I think it has one of those beats that gets me all hyped up but once it gets further into it i get kinda bored. Broken, Beat and scarred: I love the Start of this track it gets my feet going to the beat and i start up the air guitar. i love the Rhythm of it and the lead guitar too. i recommend this to any metallica fan. The Day that never ... Read review
