Advantages: Solid tracks, the same trusted Roy Khan vocals. Disadvantages: Maybe a little too far from the Kamelot tree, tried to hard.
As always, the albumart alone is enough to make you buy the album and just see what it is at home, however, as a true fan of Roy Khans vocals, I knew I was in for a treat.
The songs are different from the older Kamelot stuff, this is good and bad. Good because they should be expending, and besides, it still sounds like a treat, I love listening to it and got tickets for the concert.
However, it sounds like they tried to remix somewhat to much, ... ...to be heared, which makes me a little sad, because they know to use anything and make a awesome track out of it.
I would not recommend this if you are a person that knows 'Call of the Sea' out of your head, otherwise, it is a good album, really worth listening. ...
Advantages: featuring Amy Lee + the cure Disadvantages: few weak links
I loved this un-plugged album from Korn. from start to finish with all the best Korn songs and covering the song Creep from Radiohead. Also doing Freak On A Leash with Amy Lee and Mixing there song Make Me Bad with the Cure's In Between Days also featurung Robert Smith. This was the first attempt of Korn doing anything un-plugged and pulled it off reasonably well.
I was highly dissapointed with how they did Twisted Transistor and slightly dissapointed ... ...with the way they did Freak On a Leash with Amy Lee and Make Me Bad with The Cure. and everything ele was somewhat between the best and the worste.. Track Listing and my rating for each one:
1. Blind (from Korn) -7/10
2. Hollow Life (from Untouchables) -7/10 3. Freak On A Leash- (with Amy Lee) - 9/10
4. Falling Away From Me (from Issues)- 8/10
5. Creep (Radiohead cover) - 9/10
6. Love Song (from See You on the Other Side)- 7/10
7. Got The Life ...
Advantages: Hard, unconventional rock Disadvantages: An acquired taste
Rap-Metal group Rage Against the Machine released their self-titled debut album in 1992, but the music is just as relevant today as it was back then. Songs like 'Take the Power Back' and 'Freedom' are about individual exploitation by the cultural, social, and political systems in society, and how the people must be willing to rise up and overcome such oppression. You may have also recently heard about the small matter of 'Killing in the Name' beating ... ...when you first listen to Rage is that they mean business. The whole album is intended to provide voice to the silent minority: Those individuals that feel neglected and abused are given hope through the band's resonant, unashamed, confrontational expression. Guitarist Tom Morello's anomalous riffs, rhythmic special effects and extended tapping techniques were some of the most powerful sounds to come from a guitar in that era, and remain unchallenged ...
