Review of Sons Of Northern Darkness (+DVD) - Immortal by creepie666

Advantages: havey fast
Disadvantages: none

...with songs like tyrents and sons of northen darkness. immortal have come a long way since their first albums this album is a lot more clear and of a better quality than some of thier first albums but still gives the fast hardhitting pace weve come to expect with immortal. if your into blak metal or want to start then this album is a must have. i would also recomend albums such as blizzard beasts and battles in the north they give the hard hitting ... The Moment, The Sound, The Fury
Review of Save Yourself - Nora by RazzaLazza

Advantages: The final three tracks of the album are fantastic.
Disadvantages: The first even tracks are fairly average.

...'Save Yourself' album certainly does save itself. This is quite a strange album in that it only gets going properly in its final third; what a final third it is however and with the final 13 minutes of this album the music of NORA truly is absolutely exceptional. NORA is by no means a great band, from listening to the final three tracks of this album however you may well be fooled into thinking that this band is better than it actually is. Although ...
...an album well worth listening to for its finale alone and with the final few tracks of this album NORA is a band that sounds far greater than it actually is. It's actually quite a shock when the final few tracks of this album begin to roll, the album is injected with new life through the sludgy sound of 'The Moment, The Sound, The Fury', is progressed phenomenally with the melodic grace of 'Chances Aren't', and then with the last track of the album ... Clean live recording
Review of Tokyo Tales - Blind Guardian by GeoffRocker

Advantages: Excellently captured atmoshpere and sound quality
Disadvantages: A bit short maybe?

This is a treasure from the past! Blind Guardian from their early Speed-Metal days. Recorded live on their tour following the release of 'Somewhere Far Beyond' the sound on this album seems pretty well-processed for a one-performance recording. You can hear lamost everything and there's plenty of atmosphere (and crowd participation) without any of the nasty distortion and level imbalance that these recordings often suffer from. Sit back and close ...
...Content-wise this contains the usual tracks you'd imagine they'd play from 'Somewhere...' along with old classics like 'Goodbye My Friend' and 'Welcome To Dying'. There's a difference in opinion about the final Beach Boys cover, but I quite like it actually. Despite myself almost! I wouldn't suggest this for newcomers to Blind Guardian as it's most fun when you can sing along. Better to look for something like 'Somwhere Far Beyond' or 'Battalions ... Read review

14 Great British Punk Originals!
Review of Bored Teenagers Vol.1 - Various Artists by dangaroo

Advantages: Some great tracks
Disadvantages: None!

Bored Teenagers Vol. 1 is the first part of what is currently 4 compilations of punk bands between 77 an 82, I'd like to describe them as one hit wonders but they didn't even have hits, so it's not quite that, more an album full of the best tracks of punk bands who generally didn't release much of their own work. Some of the tracks are true hidden gems and unbelievably cracking. The album starts off with The Committed's beepy punk record "Fast ...
...and gives the listener a chance to give something a go that they would possibly otherwise never hear. Naturally being a compilation, you won't get bored as each band is different and each track is one of their better ones. No stocking fillers, just a CD full of rare gems. ... Read review

Epitaph - Necrophagist
Review of Epitaph - Necrophagist by samithedood

Advantages: awesome guitar work, bass and production
Disadvantages: Vocal Ability is average

My absolute favourite album at the moment, this really is an album for the musicians among you quite complex with alot of odd timings but never sounding out of place, If i had to describe this album to someone i would explain it as the heaviest baddest version of iron maiden you will ever hear with dual riffing harmonies apparent all over this masterpiece. The production of this album is also really good for a death/progreesive album, probably the ...
...drummer was used for this album also the lyrical theme has changed from gore to more interesting subjects. I really don't have a favourite song on the album it is all killer no filler but the opening riff of seven is certainly the most unique and memorable riff i've ever heard. ... Read review
