Review of Dark Passion Play - Nightwish

Epic orchestral album that will not fail to captivate you

Advantages: Some nice stand out songs, emotional-driven songs.
Disadvantages: Changes style to adapt to mainstream, some songs too long, Operatic singer turned down.

...as accessible as Nemo or I wish I had an angel. These two songs for me, ruins the albums flow, particulary when some people like to spin the entire album. Listening to Dark Chest of Wonders with its aggressive riffing guitars with bursting symphonics from the keyboard, then it changes to I wish I had an Angel that has repetitive and catchy lyrics. You won't be sleeping with this album on!

Advantages: Beautiful haunting album that provokes powerful imagery throughout
Disadvantages: Music not for some, ideas may not appeal...definitely not long enough! :)

Dark Passion Play

Advantages: fantastic return, outstanding album, love anette's voice
Disadvantages: none I can think of
