Advantages: Gives great appreciation for all styles of music Disadvantages: if you just want Opeth's heavier stuff, you will be disappointed.
I have eagerly awaited the release of this album as I did with Ghost Reveries and it's predecessor. After Ghost Reveries, I did not know what to expect as that album included pretty much every style and influence of music into all of the songs. So let's look at which genres are included in most Opeth albums:
Blast beating death metal ..... Check
Classical guitar ....check
classic rock.... check

pop music ..... check
jazz .... ... ...on....
And this is what I love about Opeth, to me they are primarily a metal band, but they open your mind to every other style of music and artistic expression.

...out with the new album Immortalis and like almost every other album they have done, it was a solid album that has cemented itself in my regularly played list and is still and album that I enjoy every time it’s played.
One thing I love about Overkill is they’re way of slowly building up songs with small steady riffs whilst the other band members come in one after the other, this is the case with the opening song ‘Devils In The Mist,’ and if you love ... ...great metal track.
Immortalis continues with more heavy flowing tracks such as ‘Shadow of a Doubt’, but this track and another also has a more rocky feel to it rather than being just fast playing, Overkill manages to combine trash well with a few rock n’ roll riffs, the intro to ‘Shadow of a Doubt’ and ‘Walk Through Fire’ are good examples of this, and if you listen to ‘Walk Through Fire’ and fail to feel the need to nod, then maybe your in the ...
Advantages: Ozzy at his lyrical best, teamed up with Wylde. Nostalgic! Disadvantages: Very few. Still, doesnt beat his previous work.

Although Black Rain doesn't have a very original name, (considering that there's two novels, a Japanese movie, an American movie, a German music label and a Dark Lotus music album with the same title) the sounds are still absolutely original. From Ozzy's lyrical inspiration to Zakk Wylde's insane guitar, which is deeper and sounds more like sludge metal than recent releases, this album certainly deserves a listen!

"Deliverance", one of Opeth's finest Masterpieces, came after the Album "Blackwater Park", which was not that highly appreciated, Well I'd say that every one has their one perception regarding an album or a single. Anyways, similar to the ideology of presentation that Opeth puts forth, this album contains six different tracks, All somewhat related in a way. In other words, If you take all the good parts from "Blackwater Park" & "My Arms, Your Hearse", ... ...the song synchronization seems to be in order & the production inflicts the essence of being Flawless. The Album "Deliverance" was the 1st part of Opeth's plan, as they wanted to throw in both sides of the coin, & they released two Albums in which one related to Depression & Death which was "Deliverance", and the other one related to Relationships & Nature which was "Damnation", the other half. Blizzard of Ozz was Ozzy Osbourne's first album following his split from Black Sabbath. Following being sacked from Black Sabbath, Ozzy was in a mess, living in a hotel and trying to drink and snort himself in to oblivion - Sharon Osbourne who would eventually become his wife, decided to get him back on track and from the brink of destruction, the depressive Ozzy got his stuff together and recorded this rather enjoyable album.
A great helping hand ... ...the guitar playing of the band. The only thing that this album really has in common with his earlier work of Black Sabbath is Ozzy's voice, although it does tend to stay in the top rangeof his voice for much of it. The themes are quite different with a lot less of a satanic outlook and a more moody sound, the music is gentle and melodic interspersed with amazing guitar solos.
