A Great Introduction To A Great Band
Advantages: Great songs, great riffs, great vocals Disadvantages: A few average tracks
This greatest hits collection shows what a versatile, original and underrated band Queensryche are. Opening with the heavy Queen of the Reich, followed by the melodic The Lady Wore Black, you know straght away that Queensryche are capable of more than just standard heavy metal riffing. Jet City Woman has an incredible bass introduction, fantastic vocals and an anthemic chorus, putting Queensryche above most other bands for power, while also showing ... ...evident on bonus track Someone Else which has some haunting saxophone lines, again elevating Queensryche above the competition. A final mention must go to the incredible vocals of Geoff Tate, who stands alongside Rob Halford of Judas Priest as one of the best rock/metal singers around. Of course, not every track is a classic, but it's definitely worth a listen, because there are some truly great songs on this compilation- songs with a level of originality ...

Come back Chris
Advantages: Disadvantages:
This is the newest album from the seattle rockers Queensryche and the first since the departure of Chris De Garmo. So what has the change of personel meant for the band.
Sorry to say that Chris's departure has been a disaster for the band. This Album has only a few of the traits we have come to expect from the band and it fails to either impress or surprise.
This is an album that could have been made by any of a number of US bands and that is not ... ...Mindcrime they have nade a few decent albums and written a couple of blinding ditty's but this album is in my opinion the low point of the bands history. The tracks are all too similar to each other and as with any band it appears that the sum is more than the total of the parts.
Hopefully chris will return at some point and i will not have to see the sham band that called itself Queensryche again (I spent good money to see them on the last tour ...

Beware of the Night
Advantages: hree great speed metal songs and a nice gloomy ballad. Disadvantages: Surprisingly unoriginal, and too short.
The first release of Washington progressive metal pioneers Queensr˙che fails to predict the innovative style the band would later be associated with, similar to how the first album of their genre contemporaries Dream Theater sounds like just another inferior clone of Rush. This self-titled E.P., originally of four tracks but later amended to five, is considered by many to be the band's most consistent work, despite being entirely derivative of the ... ...prog rock and glam influences that would later define the band's most commercially successful period, the songs on this 1983 release can be very easily attributed to the two English leaders of the afore-mentioned movement; to apply a rough and admittedly crude formula, tracks one and four are very similar to Iron Maiden, while the middle two sound a lot like Judas Priest. Then again, even at this early stage the band chooses to spell its name with ...

Rage Against The Machine Album Review
Advantages: Hard, unconventional rock Disadvantages: An acquired taste
Rap-Metal group Rage Against the Machine released their self-titled debut album in 1992, but the music is just as relevant today as it was back then. Songs like 'Take the Power Back' and 'Freedom' are about individual exploitation by the cultural, social, and political systems in society, and how the people must be willing to rise up and overcome such oppression. You may have also recently heard about the small matter of 'Killing in the Name' beating ... ...when you first listen to Rage is that they mean business. The whole album is intended to provide voice to the silent minority: Those individuals that feel neglected and abused are given hope through the band's resonant, unashamed, confrontational expression. Guitarist Tom Morello's anomalous riffs, rhythmic special effects and extended tapping techniques were some of the most powerful sounds to come from a guitar in that era, and remain unchallenged ...
