Rage Against The Machine Album Review
Advantages: Hard, unconventional rock Disadvantages: An acquired taste
Rap-Metal group Rage Against the Machine released their self-titled debut album in 1992, but the music is just as relevant today as it was back then. Songs like 'Take the Power Back' and 'Freedom' are about individual exploitation by the cultural, social, and political systems in society, and how the people must be willing to rise up and overcome such oppression. The whole album is intended to provide voice to the silent minority: Those individuals that feel neglected and abused are given hope through the band's resonant, unashamed, confrontational expression. Guitarist Tom Morello's anomalous riffs, rhythmic special effects and extended tapping techniques were some of the most powerful sounds to come from a guitar in that era, and remain unchallenged ...

Stranger in Us All.
Advantages: Superb incorporation of classical scales into Rock, great riffs and leads. Disadvantages: Rainbow's last album
Ritchie Blackmore, (creator of one of the most famous rock riffs - Smoke on the Water) after shuttling between Deep Purple (1965 - 1974, 1984 - 1994) and Rainbow (1975-1984,1994-1997) came up with this brilliant Album during his second stint with Rainbow, featuring vocalist Doogie White of Scottish Origin.
Blackmore uses a scalloped fretboard with wood shaved of b/w frets meaning that he plays with a light touch, resulting in a furious pace. This ... ...opener Wolf to the Moon which starts of with a signature fast paced Blackmore Riff. Doogie White, proves that his recruitment by Blackmore into the band is no stroke of luck.
The entire album has ritchie blackmore's classical influence portrayed in great style with some neat riffs. With the album of to a great start with the fast paced Wolf to the Moon, (which would also be a great concert opener), the next song Cold Hearted Woman marks the beginning ...

... ...much like any live album, I would say to people, dont buy it untill youve heard the studio stuff, its not worth finding out about the songs for a live album, when you listen to a studio CD your listening to songs, when you listen to a live album, your hearing the band, in live, raw, gutfelt emotion. To buy this album with out hearing RATM would be stupid, but for fans, this CD captures Rage in their finest, sell out moment, with a belt full of hits ...

The best song EVER!
Advantages: Too much to write Disadvantages: Don't mock 'em
...the soundtrack of my mate. Wake Up is the only song i've heard from Rage against the Machine but i reckon its amazing. Musically the chords, beats and drones are very complex, lyrically it's original and meaningfull. Rage against the Machine shine a whole new light on alternative music, i am sure that they will enspire many alternative groups in the future as Nirvana did in the early 90's. ...

The album opens on a great introduction to RATM. The composition, innovation and mood of the track hint at what is to come, but is relatively simple and easy going compared to later tracks.
