Die by the Sword!
Advantages: Fantastic album with consistent tracks, good lyrics, very melodic guitar playing. Disadvantages: A bit poor production, other than that..I dunno.?
For those who may not know: NWOBHM = New Wave of British Heavy Metal. :) 'Show No Mercy' is a fantastic album that is often over-looked by their most popular album that sold millions 'Reign in Blood'. Those who only concentrate on the only album is themselves losing out; as this is a fantastically solid album with 10 songs based pure speed/thrash with hints of NWOHBM. They refined this album as aggressive NWOHBM; which then lead to the ... ...might find it lacking in raw power/aggressiveness, they will find that instead interesting song-writing, great melodic solos and catchy riffs. Band Members Tom Araya : Vocals, bass Jeff Hanneman : Guitars Kerry King : Guitars Dave Lombardo : Drums The opening song 'Evil Has No Boundaries', this song is so utterly memorable; this is where the newcomer begins to realise the intensity, the speed, the brutal clean thrash style vocals ...

See You in Hell
Advantages: Unpredictable, relentless thrash metal from the Underworld. Disadvantages: Long song lengths lack discipline.
...most cases.
1. Hell Awaits
2. Kill Again
3. At Dawn They Sleep
4. Praise of Death
5. Necrophiliac
6. Crypts of Eternity
7. Hardening of the Arteries
A long fade in of eerie torturous sound effects and backmasked backwards vocals subconsciously urging the listener to 'join us' gets things off to a disconcerting start, with the quiet squeal of a maniacally soloing guitar in the background. Over the course of these seven songs, much will be ... ...a fairly convincing portrayal of Hell in the first place without studio trickery.
A brief pause separates the first song from 'Kill Again,' and to casual listeners - if such a thing can exist in this case - would probably be unable to tell the difference if the pause was less noticeable. The song begins at full pelt, introducing some nice dual lead guitars (in a down-tuned, evil way rather than catchy Iron Maiden style), and Lombardo's drums keep ...

Rage Against The Machine Album Review
Advantages: Hard, unconventional rock Disadvantages: An acquired taste
Rap-Metal group Rage Against the Machine released their self-titled debut album in 1992, but the music is just as relevant today as it was back then. Songs like 'Take the Power Back' and 'Freedom' are about individual exploitation by the cultural, social, and political systems in society, and how the people must be willing to rise up and overcome such oppression. You may have also recently heard about the small matter of 'Killing in the Name' beating ... ...when you first listen to Rage is that they mean business. The whole album is intended to provide voice to the silent minority: Those individuals that feel neglected and abused are given hope through the band's resonant, unashamed, confrontational expression. Guitarist Tom Morello's anomalous riffs, rhythmic special effects and extended tapping techniques were some of the most powerful sounds to come from a guitar in that era, and remain unchallenged ...

My favourite album
Advantages: Unique and Brilliant consistancey of good tracks Disadvantages: Old fashion looking album design
Normally im into Children of Bodom, Slipknot, BFMV and alot more of the screamo bands. But the Avenged Sevefold have a truly unique style, the vocalist is amazing. I bought this album, and loved it. I think the best on the album is The beast and the harlot. I truly love this band and cannot wait until their next tour. The consistancy of the tracks is also very good with tracks like afterlife, bat country, Blinded in chains, MIA and gunslinger deserving ...
