The Full Effect The Get Up Kids have on you
Advantages: Great great album Disadvantages: A peak that was not quite achieved in other albums
2002 was a strange year for me, I had finished college the previous year, spent a good few months learning about the working world and I was in a situation of what I should be doing with my life, and then I discovered the Get Up Kids. But that’s not to say my life changed suddenly because I had discovered a pretty damn good band, but how the music matched my mood at the time can be summed up by this quote from High Fidelity “Did I listen to pop music ... ...listened to pop music?”
Do not get me wrong the Get Up Kids were not some depressing dirge band talking about the injustices of the song writers life, they were an Emo band, but an exceptional one at that who have had a huge influence (not to mention set a huge standard) on some modern emo bands.
‘Something to Write Home About’ can arguably be described as a point when the band peaked at their highest amongst their ten year career (1995-2005).

Sonata Arctica's best effort by far
Advantages: Quick, melodic, catchy, epic Disadvantages: There had to be an end!
This is often considered Sonata Arctica's best contribution to the power metal genre and there is a strong case for that claim.
The high-tempo tracks like Weballergy, False News Travels fast, and Wolf & Raven are everything you love about Sonata Arctica and power metal in general. The timing and musicianship on these tracks is second to none.
This album also boasts having arguably one of the best metal ballads in "Tallulah". You'll be punching ... ...days on end.
This album was recorded when Jani Liimatainen was the guitarist. His execution of some unbelievably quick and catchy guitar work on this album is as close to perfection as one could hope. Tony Kakko's vocals are, as ever, completely flawless.
If you like power metal, buy this album. ...

Rage Against The Machine Album Review
Advantages: Hard, unconventional rock Disadvantages: An acquired taste
Rap-Metal group Rage Against the Machine released their self-titled debut album in 1992, but the music is just as relevant today as it was back then. Songs like 'Take the Power Back' and 'Freedom' are about individual exploitation by the cultural, social, and political systems in society, and how the people must be willing to rise up and overcome such oppression. You may have also recently heard about the small matter of 'Killing in the Name' beating ... ...when you first listen to Rage is that they mean business. The whole album is intended to provide voice to the silent minority: Those individuals that feel neglected and abused are given hope through the band's resonant, unashamed, confrontational expression. Guitarist Tom Morello's anomalous riffs, rhythmic special effects and extended tapping techniques were some of the most powerful sounds to come from a guitar in that era, and remain unchallenged ...

My favourite album
Advantages: Unique and Brilliant consistancey of good tracks Disadvantages: Old fashion looking album design
Normally im into Children of Bodom, Slipknot, BFMV and alot more of the screamo bands. But the Avenged Sevefold have a truly unique style, the vocalist is amazing. I bought this album, and loved it. I think the best on the album is The beast and the harlot. I truly love this band and cannot wait until their next tour. The consistancy of the tracks is also very good with tracks like afterlife, bat country, Blinded in chains, MIA and gunslinger deserving ...
