Advantages: One of the best albums of it's era. Disadvantages: Long complexed songs put some people off and the production is not amazing.
...this isn't catchy guitar hooks and sing-a-long choruses.
This is one for eshablished Metallica fans only I'd say. If you haven't listened to much Metallica this is probably not a good place to start; however if you like Metallica's earlier album such as 'Kill 'em All' and 'Master Of Puppets' you will more than likely enjoy this.
The tracks that really stand out to me are 'Blackened', '...And Justice For All' and 'One'. 'One' is the most famous ... ...his senses during a war and now is trapped unable to communicate with the world. Saying that's the most popular track should give you an idea of what this album is like!
Many people have said that the guitars and too buzzy and thin on this album and the drums are too hollow and clicky. Although this is true at times you have to remember the era this album was made in. A time when most metal bands were producing buzzy guitars and clicky drums. This ...
Advantages: a great mix of his best songs, great lyrics and cover art Disadvantages: only one new song.
This is one of my favorite of his CDs because it is pretty much a mix of all his best songs, with a new song "personal jesus" (which is a remake, along with a few others on the CD). I believe It is one of his best in my opinion, since most of the songs on it hit number one on the charts. I also love the cover od the CD. He painted it himself using water colors and also some Absinthe. I prefer this CD rather than the last mix CD he did called "holywood" ...
Advantages: Superb album all round, with Sweet Leaf on it. Disadvantages: Um...it's another album which you HAVE to shell out on.
Masters of Reality is considered by some to Black Sabbath’s finest album, and it’s a damn fine piece of music even if I, a certified Sabbath nut, do say so. This really saw Black Sabbath breaking away from their blues roots and travelling down the heavier, more evil path that the dark nature of the music seemed to demand. Also, the increasing drug consumption of the band started to show on the more, unusual and experimental tracks which ... ...evident on the majority of the tracks, but this doesn’t detract from the excellent nature of the music. All of the vital ingredients remain in place – Tony Iommi’s gut wrenching tombstone guitar tone is still more than evident on tracks like Children of the Grave, as is his talent in writing some of the greatest riffs ever to blast forth from a stereo. The softening of the drum sound on tracks like After Forever adds a new level ...
Advantages: Good combo of heavy rock and mellow music. Disadvantages: not much wrong quite a good album
Limp Bizkit returned to the Rock scene September 2003 with there latest offering “Results May Vary”. This was the first album back after the love thing between Britney and Fred. People expected it to show his feelings for her and in particular women. This was Limp Bizkit’s first album with out the well know guitarist Wes Borlan (The guy who wore paint!). New guitarist Mike shows his skills on tracks like Underneath The Gun, and Let It Go.
The cover ... ...on the front. Inside the disc is like the top of medicine bottle. Then when you lift up the CD its looks like the inside of a bottle and it has capsules with the limp bizkit logo on them. A clever play on the title of the album. Track Listings
1.Re-Entry (Intro with All Around The World) – Very good intro for an intro.
2. Eat You Alive – one of the best songs on the album. Very heavy song the kind of song that needs to be played loud. One of the ...
Advantages: The album with the songs Enter Sandman, Sad But True, The Unforgiven, Nothing Else Matters and oth Disadvantages: If you dont like Heavy, keep away from sensory organs
...material. To remedy this, Metallica hit back with this 1991 self titled release. Hiring legendary Rock producer Bob Rock (who they maintained a working relationship with right up to "St Anger") they clearly had a goal in mind to make every song a potential radio success, whilst maintaining the riff-laden heavyness early fans had become accustomed to. Despite being released at a time when the market was generally considered stale (as the band were ... ...and other "Hair" bands) and the same year as Nirvana's "anti-macho" Nevermind, the album was a monstrous success, and for very good reason. The new arrangements, heightened production value, introduction of ballads, and even singing lessons for the guttural front-man James Hetfield all contributed to one of the most revered albums of the decade. PLAY. THIS. LOUD. ...
