Advantages: Great tracks woth flawless mixing and choices. Disadvantages: The cover of the box set could be better.
This 3CD box set of 50 hardstyle tracks in the mix is awesome in my opinion, because the mixing is flawless and the track choices are well done.
The first CD is a really "Zatox and D-Block like" dancefloor smasher with lots of melodic hardstyle tunes.
The second CD mix is even harder than the first CD, the best one in my opinion with tracks like D-Block & S-Te-Fan - Evolutionz and A-Lusion - Perfect It (Frontliner Remix). The last one I mentioned is the best track on this CD.
The third one is just like the first mix, but with less melodic tracks. A lot of headhunterz, noisecontrollerz and wildstylez tracks ar there in the package.
To summarize these things, I think this great 3CD package is a must have to any hardstyle lover. It can be bought from amazon or any other popular webshops. ...
Advantages: packed full of hits, some lesser known, as well as a CD of new anthems in the making Disadvantages: Heard them all before? Possibly! But we still love them
new to trance, some may be, or if you are looking for a walk down memory lane and haven't bought one of these albums in a few years you may just enjoy what Dave has blended together. The albums saving grace is CD 3 which does have a more up-to-date selection of club tracks for your aural enjoyment.
So how does it breakdown? As i've said briefly, CD's 1 and 2 are made up of staple classic tracks from seminal trance artists such as Matt Darey, Chicane, Angelli & Nelson, Paul Van Dyk, Faithless, the list goes on! CD 3 brings us bang into 2009, or well more technically some of the tracks that were big towards the latter end of 2008. It would be unfair to judge this CD on the lack of real upfront 2009 tracks, having only been released 3 months into a new year.
For me personally, out of the 2 classic CD's, the second has to take all ...
Advantages: Comprehensive round up of the big tunes of 2008 Disadvantages: No beyonce! shock, and some horrible non-R&B on CD2
As another year draws to a close and the Christmas madness begins as sure as sure can be you know you the music store shelves will be packed full of compilations. Restrospective compilations are still the flavor de jour, and R&B Collection2009 (As it is oddly entitled) features a round up of all the tracks that did the business in yes, 2008.
What we have is a nicely packaged, although the cover is a little bog standard, 2 CD set with a bonus DVD featuring 15 music videos. This will undoubtedly set this one apart from a lot of the field. But more importantly on a compilation such as this one, how does the track listing measure up! I will now take you on a whirl wind tour of the 40 tracks featured on the album commenting on some of the more stand out efforts. It is also important to note for those of you who will be interested to know ...
