Additional notes

Album Notes: Founded by Malcolm Jones in June, 1969, Harvest Records was EMI's response to the burgeoning post-psychedelic underground music scene, in much the same way that Pye begat Dawn and Polygram begat Vertigo. In essence, Harvest was a hip young imprint without the stodginess of a multimedia conglomerate to reduce its potential hipness quotient.
Funny thing is, it worked. The five-disc HARVEST FESTIVAL box begins with Edgar Broughton's MC5-like "Evil," the label's first single, and ends a decade later with Wire's "A Touching Display," from that band's classic album 154. In between are stalwarts like Pink Floyd, Syd Barrett, Kevin Ayers, Shirley and Dolly Collins, the Move, ELO, Wizzard, and the Saints, as well as interesting second-tier artists like Barclay James Harvest, Roy Harper, and Broughton, alongside a smattering of historical curios and oddities. The astonishing package, with a foot-square, 120-page booklet, is equally impressive. A must for fans of the experimental side of '70s rock.

Twilight various artists
Review of Twilight - Various Artists by  leothesynth

Advantages: appeal to all ages
Disadvantages: few songs are repetitive

...The twilight soundtrack is a mix of artists from paramore to muse, Its a mixture of styles, ranging from upbeat, rocky sounds to slow melodic sounds. Some of the songs are very catchy like linkin parks 'Leave out all the rest' and 'decode' by Paramore. Also included in the album is 'Bella's lullaby' by Carter Burwell for all you twi-hard fans! This album (for me) is something i would definitely recommend to buy as it has music for everyones tastes, and is an album for all ages. The one thing that i will point out about this album is sometimes it does have a knack of sounding slightly repetitive, and out of fifteen songs i would recommend twelve out of fifteen that are positively cheerful, singalong songs. I have to say though that having the album out so early does mean that twilight fans have the chance to singalong and get... Read review

Urban Renewal (The songs of Phil Collins) - Various Artists
Review of Urban Renewal (The Songs Of Phil Collins) - Various Artists by  Capodon

Advantages: Loads of Phil Collins songs
Disadvantages: Loads of Phil Collins songs messed up

...An album of remixed Phil Collins tracks performed by r&b and hip hop artists. Risky, seeing as the man himself as churned out classic after classic and as you can imagine it wasnt well received by, well anyone. I did however purchase because i like Phil Collins and i like hip hop & r&b so i took a chance. I should have spent my money on buying that indoor ten pin bowling set instead. Saying that there is a couple of decent tunes on here but as a whole, not the greatest ive spent my money on Tracks Another Day In Paradise - Ray J & Brandy. The single to come off this album was received quite well, not a bad video and the brother sister duet that everyone wanted to hear. An up to date version but not better than the original. You may find me saying that more often than not Sussudio - Ol Dirty Bastard. Shocking. No resemblence... Read review
