Hatebreeder [ECD] - Children Of Bodom

Advantages: Completely fresh and new. Amazing songs.
Disadvantages: A little short.

...Unlike most of the bands which used to be good, or were recently good, Children of Bodom have taken it upon themselves to improve, which is never a bad thing with countless bands heading nu-metal to make a quick buck. In the good olden days, a la 'Something Wild' the band were raw, and energetic as they still are. If you listened close enough, you'd hear the odd litte 'error' or 'imperfection' , other little odds and ends too, i.e. in timing, but which didn't matter whatsoever since, well, they were still the best thing about. So you'd think the idea to clean it up a little and aim for complete perfection might be a bad one? Wrong. Everything about the sound on this album is perfected and polished off to the point where even Rush would be impressed with the boys. They're as heavy, as fast, as intricate, as tehcnichal... ...LIST Intro Silent Night, Bodom night Lake Bodom Warheart Bed Of Razors War Of Razors Deadnight Warrior Hatebreeder Touch Like Angel Of Death Downfall Towards Dead End Every song is flawless, the Japanese go crazy for COB, and you really hear why. What SLIGHTLY and I mean .> EVER SO SLIGHTLY lets COB down is that lyrics, to me, are hard to hear. But the music DEFINATELY makes up for this, so if you want to know the lyrics side of things im not too familiar with them as I find it hard to understand them but really the instruments is all you need to hear and this is why they are one of my , if not my absolute faveourite band. Advantages: Awesome, aggressive musical savagery.
Disadvantages: Short and samey

...wildly or air guitar like a German to this obviously has no soul, or possibly, a soul too pure to be listening to this blasphemy. Standout tracks include the absolutely brutal Bed of Razors with its strange screech along chorus, the terrifyingly spooky Silent Night, Bodom Night, and the maniacal thrashiness of Wrath Within. But all of the tracks are great including the number one hit single (!) Hatebreeder, with it’s savage sub-Metallica vocals in the chorus, and chainsaw guitar riffing. So to conclude, if you have the black, tattered and dark soul of any true metalhead then you need to get a hold of this album, which is both fiendishly inventive, refreshingly traditional, savagely evil and astonishingly technical.
