The latest in a long and epic journey from the New Jersey star.
I own every album Bon Jovi have made, and have spent a few quid going to see them across the UK, so I think I earn the right to review this one!
I was firstly impressed that I managed to pick the album up from Music Zone for a steal at under a tenner (£8.97). At first listening it sounds fresh and new. After so many albums and songs I was worried that the album would sound familiar, but I have to say that as Bon Jovi age, so does their music. Following on from 'This Left Feels Right' (a ballad album of top hits), Have A Nice Day has a definite mellow feel to it. 13 excellent tracks, including 'Have a Nice Day' and a personal favourite 'Welcome to Wherever You Are' all of which have a distinct ballad feel to them. I personally think that Bon Jovi won't again be able to recreate such rock classics as Livin on a Prayer, and You Give Love a Bad Name. Instead they are treating us to a new genre in their collection. This is a fabulous album and shows the versitility in not only singing but also song writing ability that they have. Packed with the usual extra features you'd expect the CD is a must have purchase for any Bon Jovi fan, and I think will also appeal to anyone who may have been put off in the past with the traditional Rock feel to their albums. This is more easy listening but still retains the John Bongniovi touch.
I don't know whether Bon Jovi are planning anymore albums in the future, but if they don't then this is definitely a credible final album.
Advantages: This album consists of 14 great songs, there are no weak songs Disadvantages: All the songs are soft to medium heavy rock, so you have to like rock
Bonjovi supply a mixture of both hard and soft rock as well as long and short vocals. I purchased the album thinking that there would be some poor songs on it because most of the previous albums had one or two loose cannons floating around. I was amazed to find that John Bonjovi and the rest of the lads had created their best album to date. There was no sign of any bad tracks and it just seems to go on forever, like an erternity of pure heaven. The best track is "Have a niceday" and if you like that then prepare to enjoy the entire album.
This album is a must have for anyone that enjoys any type of rock and maybe for some who dont. ...
Advantages: You will never get bored of this album Disadvantages: You have to listen a couple of times to relise how good it really is
Lryically Have a niceday is an album of pure genius. Its about getting over being down and getting on with your life when stuff happens. It talks about addiction in the track one last cigarrette freedom in bells of freedom and i think the best track is by far who says you cant go home. this track is lively, talks about what people really think and how they should act in a that situation. no matter what people think of you. Have a niceday also focused more on turning the band to a more country style which is evident in some songs but keeps the hard rock front the band had fort hard to achieve. This album is well worth buying and is a good listen whenever. It will cheer you up and you will feel differently about something if you read and take in the lyrics. It was long awaited and didnt dissappiont. ...
Advantages: vocals, lyrics, musicianship, evident unity of the band.... Disadvantages: ....'Last Cigarette'
Since 2002 and the release of the bands most recent full-length, 'Bounce', BonJovi's popularity has taken something of a nosedive; hence the anticipation for the bands new album has been somewhat muted in part. Surely a band known for hits such as 'Always' and 'It's My Life' wouldn't allow themselves to fade out without as much as a whimper, surely not. The questions aimed in the bands direction became never-ending; could Jon and guitarist Richie Sambora repair some broken ties, ties that'd been beyond dodgy for some time now; could the band return to their hay-day, the days of 'Dry County' and 'Bed Of Roses' and most importantly, could the band hack it in a scene which is technically void of anyone alike themselves right now. 'Have A NiceDay', the lead single from the album of the same name, showed that not only had the guys ...
