Freddie Foxxx is a MEGA BOMB DROPPER in Hip Hop!
Review of Konexion, The - Freddie Foxxx by  DJ_primo

Advantages: Freddie Foxxx is a dangerous animal, making the KONEXION with lyrical POETRY and raw beats
Disadvantages: Okay, so two productions for Freddie Foxxx Music Inc. sound LAZY (e.g. on ANGEL)

...rappers like Lloyd Banks. I mean it's like Bumpy Knuckles is serving knuckle sandwiches, freshly prepared in the underground kitchen of his Freddie Foxxx Inc. record basement. However the main highlight of Freddie Foxxx's lyricism, is the presence of nice metaphors and multi-syllable rhyming. They are some of the fundamental elements in Freddie Foxxx's rhyme highly evolved schemes that contribute to the GEM of this track. Here are examples of the polysyllables and smart wordplay that roar through the canine teeth of this FIERCE, but passionate emcee: [Freddie Foxxx] 'A lot of love lost, you're days is getting cloudy now I'm gonna see how many can really stand the rain Bumpy back again, analytical still working out twice day like its critical still mix a lot, keeping spiritual mic still hot, still lyrical... A pretty good collection of Freddie's solo works
Review of Solo (Mr Bad Guy/Barcelona/Bonus) - Freddie Mercury by  rappion

Advantages: Some classic solo tracks
Disadvantages: A collection which doesn't separate the wheat from the chaff

...Was Born To Love You - will be recognised by Queen fans as appearing on the 1995 Queen album Made In Heaven. On this album, both are quite alot more piano based without Brian May's guitar, with IWBTLY being very poppy and upbeat. Personally, 3 tracks on this album make me cringe. The lyrics of Mr Bad Guy, Man Made Paradise and My Love Is Dangerous portraying Freddie as a sexual God and they just don't quite seem right to listen to at ease. The highlights for me on this album are 2 of the ballads - There Must Be More To Life Than This and Love Me Like There's No Tomorrow - just what Freddie does supremely, use his voice to great effect over a slow piano in the background. Disc 2 - Barcelona is an 8 track operatic masterpiece recorded as a duet with the opera singer Monserrat Caballé. Everyone must have surely heard the title track... Read review

Sweet as, bro!
Review of Based On A True Story - Fat Freddy's Drop by  Jac09

Advantages: A mix of mellow & upbeat tracks, with great vocals and a brilliant brass section!
Disadvantages: There's not enough Kiwi music widely available in the UK!

.... Bare in mind that Fat Freddy's Drop are quite a 'jamming' band, and the average length of the songs on this album is seven minutes. These can be considerably longer at live gigs, although I wouldn't in any way count this as a bad feature. When the lyrics hit in properly, the track gets moving a little more, and gives you just a taster of Joe Dukie's stunning voice. 'Cay's Crays' is another fresh mix of reggae and dub, with plenty of Kiwi influence. This song highlights the vocal talents of Joe Dukie. Still a fairly slow track, but has a catchy chorus which will get you singing along every time. Originally the track 'This Room' was recorded by Joe Dukie and DJ Fitchie. Before they formed 'The Drop', I would imagine. I personally prefer the original, but they have updated it with a new beat, and added brass, keys and guitar. This has put... Read review
