I love it! The sounds and sights seldom fail to put me in a great mood. I like the traditional fun music that accompanies it, like Rudolph the rednosed reindeer, Deck The Halls, & Jingle Bells. I even like some of the slower songs like White Christmas. But usually, if you buy a Christmas cd by a favorite artist, they don't sing the songs as they should be and in my opinion that messes up the song. Well, a few years back, a popular Christmas tune came out called Santa Claus Is Comin' In A Boogie Woogie Choo-choo Train. It was a one hit wonder for the Christmas season, but I liked the song so much I wanted the cd. So, this review is for the cd Have Yourself A Tractors Christmas by The Tractors.

I Thought Tractors Were Farm Implements
Well, your right. In most cases tractors are suited to farm work, in most cases. But we're talking about THE TRACTORS.

Hailing from Oklahoma, the group got their first break in 1994 with Baby Likes To Rock It. They were nominated for many awards, and won the Video of the Year award from the CMA.

Whats The Music Like
The music is a mixture of bluegrass and country. What I'd associate it with, is if a group of good ol boys got together for Christmas or Thanksgiving dinner and everyone asked them to play some music. The sound is honestly down home, and very easy to listen to. Whats even easier, is the way you get into the Christmas spirit when you put it in to play. :)

Well, Tell Me About The Songs On It

Santa Claus Is Comin' To Town is the same song we grew up with. The only thing different is instead of the soft smooth tones of Bing Crosby, we got the country twang.

Jingle My Bells is a fast moving song that associates Christmas with jingling bells. And that it won't be long until Christmas comes once the bells start jingling.

The Shelter is a soft moving song about Jesus' birth. Resembles Away In A Manger and every bit as nice and sweet.

Rockin' This Christmas is the only song on this CD that I can skip without a problem. He talks about Rockin this Christmas on into New Years Eve. Does nothing for me.. lol. (actually, I think they hit the eggnog ;) to hard)

Santa Looked A Lot Like Daddy is another remake of the old song. Its just as cute and fun as the other one. The song is about a little boy who finds out many Christmas secrets.. and the fact that momma has something going on with Santa. ;)

Christmas Is Comin' is a medium tempoed song, that talks about the sights and sounds that lead up to Christmas. Snow on the ground (in some places), kids sitting on Santas knee, presents under the tree, gathering with family, all leading up to the very minute Christmas comes.

Santa Claus Is Comin' In A Boogie Woogie Choo-choo Train. The Tractors released a song some years ago called Baby Likes To Rock It and it was about his dancing girlfriend. So, of course, the way Santa comes to town is dancing and rockin and having fun. (one excerpt)

Rudolph says wait a minute what about me?
Don't leave me sitting home, all alone on Christmas Eve
Santa says no way man we gotta use your nose,
to show us all the way, to show us where to go
We got Dasher and Dancer, Prancer and Vixen
Comet and Cupid, Donner and Blitzen
And we all going ridin in a Boogie Woogie Choo-choo train!

Baby Wanna Be By You is another medium tempo song and its one of my favorites. Its about a man wanting to be with his girlfriend/wife at Christmas time. Its basically an offset remix of I'll Be Home For Christmas. But so much more fun.

Swingin' Home For Christmas is super fast paced. Its basically the same idea as Baby Wanna Be By You but with more bluegrass and different words. Just lighthearted and fun.

White Christmas is all instrumental and only lasts for seven short minutes.

The Santa Claus Boogie has Santa dancin again. It talks about taking time to believe in Santa Claus and the magic of Christmas. Quick paced song and fun to listen to.

Silent Night, Christmas Blue is a soft tune about being alone on the holidays. Its the only sad song on the album, but one (most of us) can say, been there done that
