Advantages: Works very well, fairly inexpensive, easy to use Disadvantages: Bit runny
...A couple of summer's ago, my husband gutted our old kitchen and put me in a nice new one with all the mod cons, including my new halogen hob! He told me I needed to be careful when cleaning it and the maufacturer's instruction for cleaning recommended Hob Brite, by Homecare.
I tootled off to Tesco and found it very easily, in with the rest of the household cleaning products. It cost at the time about £1.25 but it's since gone up in price a little and the last bottle I bought cost me £1.39 from Sainsbury's - the bottle contains 300ml, and to my knowledge does not come in any different sizes.
The first time I used my new hob I'd cooked us all a spaghetti bolognese and there were a few splashes of sauce sprinkled over the hob. I left the hob to cool down before I attempted to clean it, as directed on the bottle's instructions...

Advantages: good results, good price Disadvantages: -
....
The packaging, is unmissable being luminous orange with a blue lid, not the most complimenting colour combination but it's bright and stands out on the cleaning products shelf. The logo plain white writing and a hob photo with a sparkly star on the front emphasising the clean sparkle. On the side of the bottle are 3 ridges which are little grooves to place your figners in to have a firm hold on the bottle.
Inside a bottle you get 300ml of the Hob Brite it is a squeezy bottle. You shake this bottle before using then you squeeze out about a miniature circle of the white liquid. You using some kitchen roll or cloth and wipe the product over the hob. The smell for some reason reminds me of suntan lotion. It is creamy smelling, but clean eough, quite fresh.
Once you have the Hob Brite on the hob you take the kitchen roll and wipe it trying to get...

Advantages: Economical to use, leaves hob looking like new Disadvantages: None
...'s that much better than Cif, I think that they both perform more or less equally well, but I did renew my bottle of Hob-Brite, and have got into the habit of using it on the hob as a first choice.
As regards the price, Hob-Brite is currently on sale at Tesco for £1.39 for a 300ml bottle, against which, Cif is about 20p cheaper for 500ml, but you have to take into account that Cif is a multi-purpose cleaner, and a bottle of this would probably be used up some time before you have got to the end of the Hob-Brite. Because it's only necessary to use a small amount each time, it does last for several months, even when used four or five times a week. I'm a bit fussy, in that I can't stand seeing even the slightest mark on the hob, particularly as the cooker is the first thing you see when entering our kitchen, but I find that tackling each stain...
