When I first heard about this movie I had already seen 'It's A Boy/Girl Thing' and so thought this would be a 'copy-cat' version of that film. I was flicking (as I always do) through the Sky channels and came across this film. I wasn't too overly fussed about it , but because there was 'nothing else on' I decided to see what it was about. She's The Man is an American romantic comedy film released in the United Kingdom on April 7th 2006.The movie was directed by Andy Fickman and stars Amanda Bynes and James Kirk. Running time of the flick is 105 minutes. The movie is a 12 certificate. Viola (Bynes) is known for playing soccer at her school , although when the school decide to get rid of the girls' football team , she is angry. Review of She's The Man (DVD)

Don't be fooled by the title!

Advantages: None
Disadvantages: It's very very poor

I so wanted to love this album, as it sounded like it could be a classic. 2 musical legends, geniuses in their own right, one from the jazz field, trumpeter Wynton Marsalis, and one from the country scene, Wille Nelson. This had the makings of something great, or so I thought! Right away the album title grabbed my attention and had me thinking this was going to be a bluesy affair. Well, there's a hint of it on the album, but only a hint. This is possbly the most insipid collection of so called 'blues' you'll ever have the displeasure of hearing. To be fair Marsalis plays well on here (the only redeeming factor about the project), but Nelson sounds like he's going through the motions and can't wait to get out of the studio. There's a serious lack of what all good blues music has - and that's 'feel', or 'soul', call it what you will ...

She's a Wolf!

I recently saw Shakira performing huts from her new album, She Wolf on Later with Jools Holland and I liked them so much that it prompted me to buy the album. It cost £8.99 from HMV. The cover features a very sassy looking Shakira adopting a kind of She Wolf pose on the front with messy/sexy hair and a very cute sparkly tank top. Shakira is a singer songwriter from Colombia. Her full name is Shakira Isabel Mebarak Ripoll but professionally she just uses Shakira.
