Here we go again! I must be getting all nostalgic in my old age,not only did i review my lost album of Pat Benatars, but i have now found this one on CD and replaced my lost copy of thisone too. I'm awful for losing my music CD's. There must be an 80's revival thing going on in this house
I found this for £6.99 on the Amazon web site, but i belive it can be bought as cheaply as £3.99 on Ebay. Anyway,on it goes and once again it takes me back to an earlier time in my life ,and i must say i really enjoyed listening to it again. Isn't it funny how certain songs bring back a certain time or memory? The Album is very good and has a fantastic mixture of powerful Ballads and rocking good songs, with lyrics that you will have to sing along to. It will make you laugh and make you cry all at the same time.

Ann and Nancy Wilson are sisters and were the creative spark behind Heart. Ann being the elder of the two was born June 19th 1950. Nancy was born March 16th 1954. They both grew up in Southern California ,then the family moved to Seattle, Washington. Heart was actually formed in 1963 by the then bassist Steve Fossen, and friends Roger Fisher and Mike Fisher. They were originally called White Heart before dropping the "White" to leave just "Heart". Ann was the first to join the group in 1970, where she began a romantic relationship with Mike Fisher, soon followed by her sister Nancy in 1974.Nancy then went on to have a relationship with guitarist Roger. After Nancy's arrival Mike decided to leave the band and became their sound technician. They firstly had a following in Vancouver, and Heart was approached by a Canadian Label and recorded and released their first album, "Dreamboat Annie" . 1977 seen the band rise to fame, and they steadily gained popularity. They went on to have a succession of hit albums, but the line-up began to suffer losses. Firstly Fisher left in 1980 then Fossen and then Desrosier the following year. After a new line up in 1982 with the addition of Andes, and drummer Gamma, Heart found a second lease on life through the 1980's, and produced their first hit single " These Dreams". Their album "Bad Animals" gave them three more top-ten chart hits, including their second number one "Alone". They then had three successive world tours, and released another album entitled "Rock The House" in 1991. Heart then took a break from the limelight , for a while and no more information about them was released. In 1998 Heart returned with live shows and a new line-up and Sony released a Greatest Hits Album. 1999 saw the band doing a summer tour. 2000-2001 produced a hectic schedule and more tour dates. In 2002 Heart completed a a full US tour a first in four years. They also found time to release a Greatest hits CD, called "Essential Heart". 2003 saw a DVD release, and another nationwide tour. Heart no longer tours in the UK which is such a shame as they have a strong following here, and their fans would be delighted to have them come across, for a final tour. They are still going strong to this day and their songs can often be heard on the radio today.
TRACKS FROM THE CD! >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> The CD has ten tracks in all so here goes.
1. If Looks Could Kill! 3.42 This is a super song to get the CD going with its great guitars and bounce along tune.
2. What About Love? 3.41 A good strong powerful ballad, which shows the power in Anns voice.
3. Never! 4.06 Not the best on the CD, but is a little more subdued than the rest.
4. These Dreams! 4.15 This is a great tune and shows what Nancy can do if given a solo number. This also is a strong ballad.
5. The Wolf! 4.05 Not much i can say about this number but again is a good track.
6. All eyes! 3.55 A good artistic song with plenty of background music to complement the lyrics.
7. Nobody Home! 4.07 An unusual tune here! a mix between a ballad with a great Mandolin feel to it.
8. Nothin' At All! 4.09 An up-tempo number to compliment the ballad played before.
9. What He Don't Know! 3.40 You get a good all round idea of what the girls voices are like in this one. They are not drowned out with instruments.
10. Shell Shock! 3.49 I must say i was a bit dissapointed with this track.Although it is good, it's just not as good as the others.
WOULD I RECOMEND THIS CD? >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Personaly speaking yes! If you like a powerful ballad mixed with some more up-tempo numbers. I'm sure you won't be wasting your hard earned money.
Thank you once again for reading one of my reviews.
Advantages: These Dreams beautiful song Disadvantages: A little too 1980's?
...most commercial of all the Heart albums.
Heart are a Canadian group lead by sisters Ann and Nancy Wilson.
The basic is soft rock music or as some call it Stadium Rock, but this album has a few really good rock tracks that are great for example If looks could kill. It has a 10 track album, possibly a little short if I'm being critical.
I good blend between rock and ballads.
The track that will stick out for most is the haunting "These Dreams" ... ...the Vocals.
It is a thought provoking and wonderful song.
It has a clasic 1980's feel to it. With all the big hair and polished sound.
You can pick an album like this on e-bay for a few pounds.
I would recommend it just for These Dreams alone.
The produced a further album of note "Bad Animal" which is also well worth a listen. ...

Reviews which might be of interest for "Heart - Heart"
Advantages: A strong album with catchy tunes and a beautiful voice Disadvantages: A few weak links on the album, no lyrics included
'Some Hearts' is the multi-platinum, award winning debut album from the 4th series winner of American Idol, Carrie Underwood. The album comes under 'Rock and Pop' but I fell it is very 'Country' oriented with a 'Rocky' edge to it on some tracks. There are 13 tracks on the album, with 1 bonus track. Carrie hasn't written any of the tracks on this album, would like to see her writing skills go to work on the next one, be more personal.
I am a sucker for American Idol, and was pleased when Carrie won as she stood out with her modest attitude and beautiful voice, singing just about anything! Carrie has a great story too-A young woman who loves to sing, coming from a humble background growing up on her family's farm in America.
If you love music that incoporates thoughtful lyrics, acoustic guitar with a great voice, you will love this ...
Advantages: ..'' A Heart that hurts is a Heart That Works'' Placebo -battle for the sun Disadvantages: slight different direction musically for the band -may put some off(not me)
it in my head phones it seemed good song for just going off in a daydream, so i'd say it was ok enough not to skip but more of a background track. A grower perhaps?
A lot of same sound guitar throughout ,not much variety to it.
quote from the lyrics
''Love of mine..this fortress in our heart, feels much weaker, now we're apart.Love of mine..this fortress in our heart ,comes crashing down'

Track 2 Ashtray Heart 03:35
I definitely would rate this as the first decent track on this album, not bad as its the second track on the album. ,It's upbeat musically . Catchy vocal/backing lyrics/vocal s.I think its a pretty original song for Placebo , I can't make out what the backing chorus are singing -but catchy all the same.kind of like ...
Advantages: Such a variety of tracks, in regards to tempo and style. Disadvantages: 'No Air' Ft Jordin Sparks isn't featured on this album.
This album is perfect. For a good dance, there are faster paced tracks - 'Throwed' and 'Help' but to slow things down, there are a few romantic tracks with heart-felt lyrics - 'Heart ain't a brain', 'I wanna be' and my personal favourite - 'Superhuman' featuring Keri Hilson. There are so many good collaborations on this CD and Chris Brown's talent and remarkable voice is evident. His writing skills are definitely coming along and his songs are maturing. One of the few albums where you don't have to skip a song you're not so keep on. Well worth the money! It's not suprising this album has got platinum. Chris Brown has well and truly put his stamp on the charts with this amazing album! 5/5 I look forward to his next release. ...
Heart: Ann Wilson (vocals); Nancy Wilson (guitar, mandolin, vocals); Howard Leese (guitar, keyboards, mandolin, background vocals); Mark Andes (bass); Denny Carmassi (drums). Additional personnel: Frankie Sullivan (guitar); Holly Knight (keyboards); Johnny Colla, Lynn Wilson (background vocals). Recorded at The Record Plant, Los Angeles and The Plant Studios, Sausalito, California, between January and April 1985. The other Wilson sisters strode wilfully back into the international charts with their self-titled debut for Capitol Records, now seen as the first female AOR classic. Drawing on outside writers to help develop the project, they created an album of enormous musical wealth that charted internationally with a host of successful spin-off singles. With Ron Nevison's lush production and the Wilsons' soulful vocals, tracks such as "What About Love," "Never," and the yearning "These Dreams" were guaranteed sellers, while the band still rocked majestically for "If Looks Could Kill' and "Wolf," in particular.
