Advantages: twas something else amongst all U2 albums and blessed are the fruits of its groove Joshua
Disadvantages: just another doze of some Irish "silliness" ? accd to snobs

...to turn on my first backslidden angry teenage years (although it ain’t that far too rebellious though as it may sound like) – ‘tis such of an experience like when your parents got you so ticked off that you wind wrecking your most precious vinyl record LP smashed and broken up to pieces in a fit of rage, and then going outside to burn the entire wrecked up copy of the album that you have -- that however IS the very case that I have with my very first copy of THE JOSHUA TREE. Released in 1987, on the midnight of Saint Patrick's day March 17 (exactly three years after when I have converted into the light of true Christianity incidentally), THE JOSHUA TREE stands for what U2 have attempted to implore right from their conceptualization way back in their beginnings from Dublin Ireland, as one of the first rock bands to ever profess to bear... Advantages: Brilliantly creative, inventive, innovative... etc. album played by a stunning list of musicians
Disadvantages: some might find it pretentious

...The chances are that you’ve heard Robert Fripp’s guitar even if you’ve never heard the name. Ever wondered whose amazing guitar that is on Bowie’s Heroes? What about Scary Monsters? He’s played with and produced Peter Gabriel, the Talking Heads, Brian Eno, David Sylvian, The Future Sound of London, Blondie Andy Summers (of the Police), The Orb; also The California Guitar Trio, Trey Gunn, Bill Rieflin (for those who know who they are) and is married to Toyah Wilcox of all people, but otherwise better known as the only remaining founder member and force behind King Crimson. Fripp has made a vast array of solo albums, mostly his ambient soundscapes that are themselves beautiful. ...bullets rape the night of the merciful I'll see you again When the stars fall from the sky And the moon has turned red Over One Tree Hill" ~~Exit~~ Opening with a very atmospheric sound which wouldn't be a miss in some thriller film, Bono practically reads the lyrics for the first verse of this song. As the tempo changes up several gears you are greeted with a sound that is best described as angry both vocally and musically.Unfortunately this anger really isn't used to proper effect and by the middle of the track you really are wondering if you are listening to a pre recording practice session.It ends rather abruptly. "Exit" again dwells on the unfairness that is our world. "His head it felt heavy As he cut across the land A dog started crying Like a broken hearted man At the howling wing At the howling wind...
