Hed Kandi - Back To Love (The Mix) - Various Artists

Advantages: If you want a very generic mix CD this could be for you.
Disadvantages: Many tracks are either remixes of commerical hits, or at least 4 years old.

...Having long been a fan of the Hed Kandi brand, and of funky house music I decided to reluctantly purchase 'The Mix 2009'. My reluctance came from reading the tracklisting on the back of the Album - Shakedown 'At Night', X-Press 2 'Lazy' Afro Medusa 'Pasilda' and others are all relatively old tracks. If the theme of this album had been similar to the Hed Kandi classics CD in 2006 it would be understandable - but this edition professed to be 'The Mix 2009'. On previous outings the main two CD's always featured the biggest tracks of the year and nothing else - a sort of House Music annual. The 'Chill-out/Wind-Down' themed third CD each time had previously been the only disc to feature 'classic house'. The Mix 2009 certainly isn't and if a general overview of 2009 in house music is what you're after then perhaps it would be better to look... Read review

Advantages: Fantastic Full-Length Dance Classics
Disadvantages: A few substandard fillers...

...I've got all the Back To Love compilations from Hed Kandi of of "classic tracks that gave birth to a whole generation of clubbers", and was listening to this one (well, both CD's in this double-pack actually) in my car earlier today, so though't I'd let you know what I thought... --- CD1 1. "You're gonna miss me" - Turntable Orchestra (original mix) Classic "italian house" piano, and a great baseline 2. "Love will find a way" - Victor Romeo feat. Latrice Brown Nothing special about this one really, a bit of a filler really... 3. "See the day" - Ann Consuelo (Stonebridge mix) What a vocal ! And more italian piano. 4. "Aftershock" - Slave to the Vibe (12" club mix) Maybe it's this extended 12" mix (that Hed Handi is all about), but I remember this track being much better... 5. "Push the feeling on... Read review

Advantages: Excellent less know dance tracks and some old classics
Disadvantages: Non stop mix gets messed up on my iPod

...INTRODUCTION Im new to Hed Kandi so this is the first cd i have purchased from them and it wouldnt be the last. I really love dance music but many of the tracks i liked were on cd's mixed with common rubbish usually remix's of annoying ringtones, but this is pure quality. What i know is that Hed Kandi is a dance record label who arrange some of the best clubbing night's at all the top clubs in Britain including Pacha and Paridise, due to a slight age problem (16) i havent experienced Hed Kandi live just yet but no doubt i will soon enough. PERSONAL OPINION Disc 1 is called ' Disco Heaven Mix' the tracks are more vocal and quite relaxing to listen to.
