Advantages: classic british metal, new vocalist sounds awesome Disadvantages: couple of songs don't quite make the grade
...the same. 'HellBent For Leather' is legendary with Priest fans, as Halford (and Owens) bring a Harley out onto stage and rev the crap out of it for the intro to the song.
The Bad Bits
--------------
The only disappointment on this album is that there is still some evidence of the anger that was obvious on the 'Jugulator' album. Tracks 1-3 on CD2 are skipped automatically every time I listen to the album, and the end of CD1 only just escapes the same treatment. That isn't to say that the songs are impossible to listen to, and they will probably suit some people, but I don't think that it is the true JudasPriest.
Finally
---------
A good friend in Canada gave me this album, and it was the first time I had ever heard JudasPriest (other than 'Breaking The Law' on Beavis and Butthead!) Like AC/DC's 'Live' album...

Advantages: Some TRUE gems found here... Disadvantages: Some tracks maybe remind to much of each other.
...The year is 1991 and it has been 17 years since the release of their debut album "Rocka Rolla" and now once again they are back again with Rob Halford as frontman with "Painkiller". "Brittish steel", "Point of entry" and "Defender of faith" were albums that were released in the early 80s and are still today considered by a lot if people to be on of the best heavy-metal albums out to date. Advantages: An updated blast from the past Disadvantages: Not everyones favorite Beatles tracks were covered
...This album is not like the other Beatles tribute albums, but instead is in a class of its own. Featuring top musicians from the rock and metal genre this CD promised to be a screeching, howling head banging take on several Beatles classics. And the first track sticks to this promise. Alice cooper's vocals make 'Hey Bulldog' his own, accompanied on guitar by Steve Vai, this track is not only a catchy tune but prepares you for what is to come. Several tracks feature very unique vocal stylings from the likes of Motorheads Lemmy and Ex JudasPriest/Iced Earth singer Tim "Ripper" Owens.
I am a Beatles fan, and upon hearing that members of the metal and rock family were releasing this album I was excited, yet filled with a slight feeling of apprehension. Could The Beatles songs really be pulled off with screaming vocals and raging guitars...
