As Alice Cooper compilation albums go, this is a good one. The album's called Hell Is Alice Cooper (sticking very closely to his philosophy of wanting to scare people) and as expected most of the songs are good old fashioned rock, many of the lyrics talking about Hell or Fire.

I have an admission to make about this CD, when I went to buy it I was just looking for any Alice Cooper CD, and this was the only one they had. Any half hearted Alice Cooper fan will instantly recognise most of the songs on here and anybody alive will recognise at least school's out.

Anyway, the CD. It starts with my personal favourite, Poison. This song makes for a great driving song and it always cheers me up! (Those who recognise poison from the Flip and Fil version, same on you). The CD remains in poisons sort of tone throughout, with such greats as House of Fire, Bed of Nails (which I find hilarious), Hey Stoopid (which, along with Feed My Frankenstein have two of the best starts of songs ever), before finally reaching two excellent Live versions of Go To Hell and School's Out. School's out is even better when listened to live and no one can disagree with Alice when he says at the start "You better know this!" To a huge crowd - I so wanted to be there.

I bought the CD for £8 which is quite cheap for an album these days, however I know it can be bought elsewhere (especially on the net - try Amazon) for much less.

Overall I have to give this album 9/10. It's good for people mildly interested in Alice Cooper even if it is a narrow range of his songs but maybe not so much for the die hard fan. Although there are some great songs on here, there are a couple you tend to skip, just so you can here the greats. But overall, I definitely recommend this.
