Iv always been a fan of goldfinger and it had been a while since the release of a new album prior to this one being released. I had been looking forward to a new album as i really liked their new-ish material and thought that the band were getting better and better.
When this one came out I downloaded it straight away, I had already listened to a few songs they released on myspace before the release and enjoyed these so I was looking forward to the other material.
unfortunately I wasn't too impressed, there are only a few good songs on their and some that i just cant stand to listen to. A few of the good songs are really good, though it feels a little bit rushed and a bit like all the songs are of different kind of genres.
I put this down to the return of the guitarist who previously left the band as he liked metal music and not punk. He has seemed to have some influence in some of the songs and I feel has let the band down.
If you did like this bands earlier stuff then be prepared to be a little disappointed in this album. If you've not heard of them yet and are into punk/ pop punk, then i advise listening to their earlier albums like hang-ups and open your eyes.
i still have a lot of respect for goldfinger, their earlier material is still amazing every time I listen to it and it never get old, and their live shows have so much energy but I feel this album just doesn't live up to the expectations i previously had.

Additional notes
Album Notes: 'Hello Destiny' is the sixth studio album from Los Angeles ska-punk outfit Goldfinger and their first for independent punk label SideOneDummy. Recorded and produced by frontman John Feldmann the album sees Goldfinger return to the sound that graced their 1995 self-titled album, a mix of ska and reggae influenced Southern Californian punk rock. The album also includes guest appearances from the likes of Lostprophets' Ian Watkins, Save Ferris' Monique Powell and The Used's Bert McCracken.
Album Reviews: Alternative Press (p.128) - 3 stars out of 5 -- "[O]ne of the more important albums of the band's career.....Several of the tracks are decidedly upstroke and horn dependent; the band's refreshed, energized state is evident..."
