During this time Louis met and married different women (4 in all including Lillian) and then came the 1940?s when music tastes changed. Sales dwindled and Joe Glaser decided to replace Louis orchestra with a smaller group, that group became one of the most popular groups in the history of Jazz, named LouisArmstrong Allstars.
For the next 20 years Louis and his group toured the world, having such famous records like HelloDolly which knocked the famous Beatles off the top charts.
In 1968 Louis recorded the song What A Wonderful World which he sang with so much feeling, it was almost like a diary, how he?d seen trees of green, red roses too and how he?d seen them bloom, he sang about children playing and how he?d watched them grow, it was like as if he was reliving his life ...

Advantages: Fine score, brilliant cinematography, goof performances. Disadvantages: A few odd choreographic moments.
'sensibly' cast and portray their roles well: Walter Mathau is brilliantly irascible as Horace Vandergelder, and Michael Crawford is (unsurprisingly) incredibly funny in the junior romantic role of Cornelius Haekl. Even odder than the choice of leading lady is the casting of LouisArmstrong, who shows up as a band leader to duet with Streisand on a portion of the title song. This is a truly bizarre moment which is quite pointless, but welcome nevertheless (who could fail to welcome any contribution by Armstrong?).
The score of Hello, Dolly! was never one of my favourites, partly because of Carol Channing, whose voice I despise, who heads up the original Broadway cast recording, and various others since. However, now that I've seen the musical both on stage and on screen with considerably less 'growly' leading ladies, I can appreciate it far ...

Hello, Dolly! was first produced on Broadway by David Merrick in 1964, and later went on to win 10 Tony's. When it was finally made into a 1969 film it became nominated for seven Academy Awards.
Fabulous widow Dolly Levi whilst teaching dance classes (amongst other things) makes her living meddling in others lives. Matchmaking being her speciality.
However when her new client 'half a millionaire' Vandergelder books her to find him a wife of his own to tend to himself and his home dolly decides the only woman right for him is of course, Dolly herself.
Dolly convinces Vandergelder the perfect woman for him is in new york city and takes him and his two assistants to the big Apple.
Howerver, on arrival, Vandergelder's intended is kept away from him , much to his annoyance. Dolly decides that his two clerks are perfect ...
